Canucks aren't that bad. I'd take them saying aboot over a britbonger adding "er" on the end of everything.

Finarfin's post made me curious. Pirated the remaster and installed ME1LE.
Holy ****, it looks so bad! How did they manage to make everything look so FLAT?
People do indeed look like corpses. It's the ******* eyes. Lifeless eyes, like a doll's eyes.
Also, it sounds like they rerecorded Hackett's lines and he sounds like he's ******* dying.
Horrific.

I started the game on Veteran and it's ****-easy. There are fewer enemies and the sniper rifle scope doesn't sway AT ALL. Like, *****, this is supposedly an RPG. Shepard's hands are supposed to shake like he's going through alcohol withdrawals when he's aiming down the scope, at least until you pump some points into the Sniper skill.

They ****** up so much that it is pointless to name everything, easier to play original or mod the original if you need more poligons and texture resolution.

It is, you can debate whether the LE2 or LE3 versions are better but you might as well keep going at that point. The LE1 version massively improves the shooty pooty.

I specifically replayed the original ME1 for this without any mods aside from a single one - ME1 Recalibrated (a bugfix patch that was linked on the PC Gaming Wiki).
It looks vastly superiour to the "remaster." Sure, the textures are not in 40k resolution and the models are a bit rough, but the lighting alone is very beautiful. It has depth and shows clear intent behind it, the way characters are illuminated in the cutscenes to make them stand out against a darker background. In LE they lighting is flat. The characters and the backgrounds are illuminated evenly, which makes the characters blend in.
Oh, and in the original the characters actually look like humans. They don't have weird plastic orbs for eyes and they don't have weird ashy skin.

To be fair Lance Henriksen always sounds like he's dying. The lighting looks bad because they removed the original's unique lighting system which is why Mello is required to make it look even slightly decent. Funny enough the original game didn't port over all the effects of the 360 version but it got close enough to capture the feel.

Choosing to play a woman is a lose/lose scenario.

No matter what options you pick, you're still a *** who plays as a woman.

I'm assuming you are using the "general you", as I am playing through the trilogy as Bronson Shepard modeled after Paul Kersey (Charles Bronson) from Death Wish.

I didn't know you could play as a woman. Commander Shepard is this man right here, never known any other

Gotta say I played Mass Effect 1 countless times (probably close to 50+ or so) and it still is fun as ****. ******* LOVE MASS EFFECT 1. This time I did a ruthless and calculated Shepard.
Nominating Mass Effect 2 ofcourse.
The most kino end credits song of any game I've ever played. Goosebumps every single time :toot:

That's a lot of hours.
I’m currently in my fourth trilogy playthrough (of the LE) since it released in 2021, on the last part of ME3. When you break it down, that comes out to roughly ~50 hours per game, but even that still feels inflated since these games can be finished easily in 20-30 hrs, even playing casually.

The first couple of playthroughs coincided with a very relaxed work-from-home job, and a large portion of that playtime was likely just the game idling in the background while I was working.

I noticed that all 3 of your characters wear the same kind of armour. Is that a coincidence or are you also someone who does this on purpose? (Which is the correct thing to do, and no I'm not autistic  )

I don't typically do it, but I was definitely doing it on purpose during that game. I thought they all looked cool together in camo green.

Edit 1: This is also the first playthrough I'm romancing Ashley, and I wanted them to match. Wrex is just a funny third wheel.

Edit 2: I often try to go for a "primary colors" thing like Red/Blue/Yellow (Like my screenshot above with Zaeed and Grunt) because it reminds me of Star Trek.

Alright, finally getting started. Doing some things I've never done in Mass Effect before:
1.) Playing Default Shepard
2.) Playing an Earthborn
3.) Taking mean dialogue options and being an ******* where usually I play him at least somewhat professional

Here is the Man himself:

There should be an achievement for the armor skill like there is for guns and magic that lets your other classes wear heavy armor.
I'm sick of a woman being the only human in the squad to be able to wear heavy armor, ******. Sentinel in heavy armor would be kino.
