Apparently, the English version is the only one that has the Type 1 and 2 thing. So, thank the localizers, I guess.Finarfin wrote: ↑ November 16th, 2025, 10:37Only woke thing is the body type 1 and 2 thing which feels out of place in a chinese game.Mordred wrote: ↑ November 16th, 2025, 09:04i have not played it yet. did someone find anything woke yet? i am pretty sure i will end up in recommended cause pretty much all chinese games i played so far had nothing woke in it, i suspect the same here.

Admittedly I didn't get very far, it just feels like a competent, polished game release.methoxetamine wrote: ↑ November 22nd, 2025, 06:05Was going to skip it by default since it's mobile and free which are 2 things I generally refuse to play on principle, but shilling might be getting to me

If it seems interesting and you have the harddrive space give it a go, it's free. I don't know how their business model works, as it seems the only thing they sell are cosmetics(?) despite this seemingly being a mostly solo game(?)

This is a sore spot for china, isn't it.
based trad chinese here to save us from degeneracy!Unknown998 wrote: ↑ January 5th, 2026, 06:02There is an entire degen sect which you can only enter if you are into polyamory and they say that "for love it doesnt matter if you like men, women or both and one or many" So there is an openly LGBTQBBQ friendly sect in that game.....And you can also do same sex marriages with other players.
Mihoyo had lesbian romances in Honkai Impact 3rd. Then Genshin released and became a worldwide megahit to the point that CCP officially recognized Genshin as a form of softpower and a communist party committee overseeing Mihoyo was established. Mihoyo owner Liu Wei became a CCP officer. A few years ago the CCP released slides using Venti from the base launch of Genshin as an example that they did not want to see any femboys or androgynous characters being made by devs the devs, and then there were the censorship patches. The Mihoyo devs have expies of the HI3rd characters in Genshin and HSR including expies of the lesbians but when they got ported over it was severely downplayed or nonexistent. And then Mihoyo's next game ZZZ had ziltch of it. And then several years ago, there was a crackdown on authors of homosexual Mahua. The Their Story author wound up getting scared and she ceased drawing it, while those who did not got arrested. I think it was posted here that there was another arrest wave again.Unknown998 wrote: ↑ January 5th, 2026, 06:05How long will it take China to reach BG3 levels of degen?
I guess that the degen sect is presented as decadent schemers promoting sexual immorality, you can be a degen just as you can be an assassin. Still the lesbian quest from the unreleased content seems to go very far for China. Seems that this game hasnt done very well in China but did very well in the West so maybe now the CCP will take note and crack down on the degen. I do like the game myself. I do like the Song dynasty and Emperor Taizu in general, still I wont give them any money. I dont want to support the Chinese version of Bioware in 2003 which made great games but was also the battering ram of wokeness which turned western RPGs (my favorite genre) into the wokest genre out there.Val the Moofia Boss wrote: ↑ January 5th, 2026, 06:22Mihoyo had lesbian romances in Honkai Impact 3rd. So it is strange that a big release game like Where Winds Meet which seems to have this. Perhaps the stuff in WWM is so far low level enough that it hasn't become a high priority for the cultural committees to get around to yet. With a population of over a billion, there is probably so much stuff happening that their attention is being drawn elsewhere.
At least they have a non gay government.....which cant be said for anyone else who makes games.....rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ January 5th, 2026, 06:29imagine being so gay you need a government to personally tell you to stop being such a massive ******

Sadly most powerful organizations are....and many were in history since its a great way to blackmail ppl. Russian elite is also full of them, yet Russia isnt at risk at going woke in the near future....public support for wokeness is very low. China is still far better then what we have now or even Japan. Will it last though.....rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ January 5th, 2026, 06:40CCP is probably full of closet homos thoUnknown998 wrote: ↑ January 5th, 2026, 06:40At least they have a non gay government.....which cant be said for anyone else who makes games.....rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ January 5th, 2026, 06:29imagine being so gay you need a government to personally tell you to stop being such a massive ******
The government wouldn't need to tell them to stop being gay if this was true
I meant Russia....I have no idea how woke China is.....all surveys seem ideologically biased into one or another direction.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ January 5th, 2026, 06:45The government wouldn't need to tell them to stop being gay if this was true
Debatable. While at a glance it seems like there is less LGBTQ stuff in their media than in Japan, a broad look at their society seems to suggest it is overall much more morally bankrupt. Serpentza and laowhy86 talked about how they lived in China for years, there was a honeymoon period where they were enamoured with the culture looking at how nicer it is than the West on the surface level, married Chinese women, and then slowly woke up to the societal malaise under the surface. It is not a society built on Christianity. People there do not think like we do even in a post-Christian society. Scamming is a lot more common there. People will get hit by a car and will be dying in the middle of a street, and crowds will walk by with no one stopping to help because nobody wants to risk getting sued. That is not to say that every Chinese person acts like that but that is the broad view of the culture that Serpentza and lao wound up taking away from it when they eventually left (in part because they were intimidated by the police in their last year or two of staying there as the police kept following them around everywhere), and IIRC they said they would have probably have left eventually even if they didn't get put on a list because of the society.Unknown998 wrote: ↑ January 5th, 2026, 06:44China is still far better then what we have now or even Japan.
I was more talking about how degen their media is. Jap media is getting ever more degen under western influence (although they at least dont tend to have ugly women) and itl probably reach BG3 levels by 2030, Chinese media is rather non degen, hence me consuming some of it. The question is...will it become degen soon? Russia doesnt tend to make RPGs except for Owlcat which has "gone native" in the West.Val the Moofia Boss wrote: ↑ January 5th, 2026, 06:55Debatable. Japan in contrast is much societally harmonious. People seem to give more of a **** about each other than the Chinese do each other, there is less scamming, etc.
Also, look at the Xianxia genre (Chinese high fantasy) novels and webnovels written by the Chinese, and also their manhua. One of the most common complaints of Xianxia and Manhua by Western readers is how they are psychopathic revenge fantasies where the protagonist kills people at the slightest imagination of being "wronged", utterly horrific tortures people, etc. Japanese media in contrast leans towards trying to be kind towards people even your enemies (often to a suicidal degree. Japanese anime/manga/VNs/JRPGs/LNs/etc is notorious for mass murderers often getting let off the hook with their repetence being unconvincing).
Cope
The series downplays the relationship between the two male main characters so that it is only implied. The source material however has them engage in a homosexual relationship more directlyVal the Moofia Boss wrote: ↑ January 5th, 2026, 06:26Also, a few years ago there was a big fantasy TV show in China called the Untamed. Fujoshis wound up shipping the two male protagonists together and their actors together, and it caused a big scandal in China leading to the two actors being mandated to not appear together at all.
Killing bad guys is actually good. The japanese are ******* regarding this. Muh " if you kill the bad guy, you're just as bad as he was" is what turned me off from japanese mediaVal the Moofia Boss wrote: ↑ January 5th, 2026, 06:55Debatable.
