[ LBL INSIDER ]
With the 2025 LBL Regular Season coming to an end and the Wildcard games concluding this year has certainly been an 'interesting' one. The previous years Legend Bowl contending Houston Mustangs were barred entirely from even making an appearance this year despite going all the way to the finals losing out to the current champions, The Tampa Bay Corsairs. A team that was a powerhouse all season including the previous year where they lead their division through the entirety of the season from Week 4 on. Such a 180 and general 'collapse' of their success suddenly has been an embarrassment for the organization and the fans. One could say The Houston Mustang's never recovered from the close loss to The Tampa Bay Corsairs or that contract disputes, trades and an aging player base and QB were the cause... but then there's some that would attribute this to the league's newest attraction. A Team that many of their fans would say took the 'wind out of the sails' of the Mustangs... a team who may as well have had a 'jolly roger' or middle finger as their logo. The RPGHQ Shitposters.
Where to start? The league's newest team, funnily enough being placed in the "Sunshine" Division were anything but. From even before the first pre-season game it was clear the Shitposters were the up and coming 'villains' added to the league. From unwarranted attitudes and verbal tirades throughout the season, they've become a source of viral highlights from their QB
@Kalzone "The Bomber " 's slur-leaden rants after games to on field fist fights and social media taunting and league wide middle fingers to everyone but their own. The Houston Mustangs had the 'pleasure' of facing them in the first pre-season game of the year and it became obvious, despite the low scoring game that the Shitposters were going to be a problem as the antics were on full display early on. Now you'd think just seeing them for the first time that this was just some viewership experiment to toss in some mostly undrafted 'team of meanies' to hopefully get in some wins and the odd fight on field to get the League some hype or increase ticket sales. But then you fast forward a few games and check your LBL App or local sports channel for updates on pre-season for those that even watch those games, and see that they've gone
3-0. It's just pre-season though right? Most teams just treat these games as working on new player additions, focusing on younger newer talent and warming up the players for the season ahead but not the Shitposters. They treated every game like a 'do or die' match pouring on the pressure, coming right out of the gate with a 2nd pre-season game beat down of the Detroit Cougars
58-15, and a game 3 win over the Las Vegas Gunners
14-13 in another closely fought contest.
The RPGHQ Shitposters had their first regular season match against the 2nd place Houston Mustangs beating them once again
39-22 and going on to win 3 more straight for a total opening franchise run of
6-0 before being narrowly brought down for their first loss to the Dallas Rangers in Overtime
36-30. An expansion team going
6-0 overall to start is a rarity to say the least as the Star Dome attendance saw a major raise after this 3rd regular season game. Now as a regular fan of the league you'd be thinking "What the heck is going on? How are these goons doing so good?" That's what we've all been wondering for the past 16+ weeks but one can deny they've been impressive to watch despite the obvious offensiveness the entire team represents which is a topic for an article all in it's own. The Shitposters have been consistently toppling seasoned players and garnering new fans every week with either heroic plays or horrific attitudes. In a League apart from more professional operations, they've certainly 'crossed the line' multiple times with their utter lack of respect for other players, teams and fans with countless displays of 'villainy' as they've somehow captured the hearts of thousands of fans. As the season progressed, they've been able to establish themselves as legitimate contenders for the Championship week after week as they've fought through multiple injuries to key players such as Vergil "The Vampire", Nemesis "The Skull",
@Manny von Carstein and QB Kalzone "The Bomber". One trip to the Star Dome at any given time will show how much the fans support their Red, White and Blue bruisers as the fans will even hop the stands to help the team out in times of high distress, like some Hollywood movie where every game is a spectacle and octane is at a high point.
One point of contention amongst many, that fans and players alike have been eagerly following is that between the defending champions, the Tampa Bay Corsairs and the Shitposters. The Tampa Bay Corsairs struggling in the first half of the 2025 season to remain afloat in the standings, fought their way back out of Wildcard to ultimately be reunited with the League 'bullies' after 2 disappointing losses for the "Sunshine" Division Championship. QB Francisco Engstrom has been vocal about his teams post-championship woes all season to Florida media outlets and his comments regarding the Shitposters and QB Kalzone "The Bomber". Kalzone "The Bomber" and fellow players have had nothing to say directly to Tampa Bay or Engstrom, perhaps as a 'tactic' or rule enforced by RPGHQ management. Despite their brutish and outright savage behavior they've been adamant in remaining mostly silent, perhaps letting their performance speak for itself apart from a few Shitposter social media posts from players taunting and 'clowning' on other players in the league after games. They've been surprisingly 'disciplined' to hesitantly use the word regarding other teams across the league maintaining the 'air of mystery' or perhaps 'disinterest' among fan and hater interactions. Their uniformity during introductions and national anthems showing this all season as they never deviated from standing at attention during nation anthems and engaging in 'shenanigans' with fans or the like when the music hits. Unmentioned so far is the Shitposter's Coach Classix. He's had very few interviews and comments before and after games along with the team owner
@Rusty Tackleford who has remained commentless during the season, just adding more mysteriousness to the team as they've stuck with the 'show, not tell' narrative the entire season. Coach Classix has had few media interactions this season mostly in 'jest' or light hearted moments with 'grey area' comments regarding star QB Kalzone "The Bomber" 's outbursts or oddly the accusations of team members being inhuman, "Vampires" in particular. It's been quite the ride regardless of how you feel about them as they've been putting on a show all season as the final handful of games are set to take place in this 'bizarre' 2025 season.
With two Division Championship games taking place this weekend, eyes are curiously fixated on the Shitposters for the following weekend on the 19th as they clash with the defending Champions in a 3rd meeting at Home as the Star Dome is expected to be absolutely deafening with a sea of Red, White and Blue faithful. An interview with Coach Classix is expected this Friday (9th) or Saturday (10th).
