Divinity II is very good and underrated, by the way. Wood recommend.
Not referring to divinity original sin 2, beyond divinity, etc.,
This one:

Man, the only thing i liked about this game is the Dragon implementation. The combat at hard difficulty is a slog if you have a magic build.

It is possible to show evil receiving its just deserts without depicting filth, torture, and pornography in graphic detail.
Not anymore it isn't. Subtilty died a long time ago, people must be shown every drop of blood, every thrust, and every horse dropping or else they just don't get it.
Yep, that went out with "fade to black" on kiss scenes as an indicator they got together. I mean... what could they possibly be doing? I have no idea... we must see... we must know every detail, every angle, etc... You know, because them ending a night with such could seriously mean they are about to bake cookies or something, maybe play cards?

It means they went inside to talk about future marital prospects before going to sleep in separate beds.

I'll play EA just so I can annoy Larian by creating a straight, white, male character.

They're gonna pull the rugs below your feet so hard right before this releases. You think you're gonna get a dark fantasy RPG, but what you're really gonna get is my dream barbie fantasy where i can sword fight with she cocks and drag queens at festivals.

Indeed. Other than the vulguar stuff at a festival, what did it really tell you about the game, gameplay or the setting?

Contrast that to the original WoW trailer. I knew right then and there that I wanted to play that Mage. (Despite later on realising how funny it was he was slinging fireballs at infernals).

I watched that interview. Them talking about viewing lines in-game to decide whether they makes sense... and I'm here going:

A room full of adults watching a aasimar **** twirling a woman around, and none objected to such blatant cringe.

And then Sebastian the ****** saying "my name sounded like a lyric on your tongue". Are you kidding me? This is your writing quality check?

I'm never spending a dime on Larian trash.

Just off the top of my head
>tells us what races and subraces could be in the game
>tells us people have gone nuts due to Seven being gone/silent
>there's a wicker man cult dedicated to sacrificing people to the Seven
>demons are going to be a big deal in this game
>hellstones will play a big role (are they portals to tartarus/hell?)
>everything points to the game being set after DOS2, probably following the "seal the source" ending timeline

The trailer with no gameplay and that looks nothing like the game?

Holy **** guys we’re not "pushing hard" for or replacing concept artists with AI.

We have a team of 72 artists of which 23 are concept artists and we are hiring more. The art they create is original and I’m very proud of what they do.

I was asked explicitly about concept art and our use of Gen AI. I answered that we use it to explore things. I didn’t say we use it to develop concept art. The artists do that. And they are indeed world class artists.

We use AI tools to explore references, just like we use google and art books. At the very early ideation stages we use it as a rough outline for composition which we replace with original concept art. There is no comparison.

I talked about how we use ML here if you would like to know more:

We've hired creatives for their talent, not for their ability to do what a machine suggests, but they can experiment with these tools to make their lives easier.

The game is mechanically sound and pretty well designed. This was admitted in the BG III thread pretty much right from the start. Swen himself is known to be a combat-***, so it's not surprising.

Like... in order to be a good troll, you need to be smart, or, at least, have played the games. You don't seem to be HQ, tbh.

I know this is pretty much of an eye-roll these days, when TB is back to being just as relevant as RTwP and other styles, but I feel the need to paste this for completion and assurance that we're going to continue getting TB with Larian.

Larian Studios confirms Divinity is turn-based:

"It's a turn-based RPG featuring everything you've seen from us in the past, but it's brought to the next level"

Seems like Larian has big ambitions for Divinity. Swen mentioned it in every interview how this game is going to be all about player agency and creating your own unique story, and that they've built a new engine for this purpose. We'll see if they succeed this time, because they always have big goals for their games, but then reality gets in the way and humbles them. Maybe it will be different this time?

One thing I was very happy to hear is that they're rebooting the Divinity universe and taking the worldbuilding seriously this time. Maybe we'll finally get to see what Rivellon looks like.
