Thinking of CA's trajectory in the last half-decade and longer, especially how dumbed down and ****** TW has become with TW Warhammer, I have zero hope for this being anyting other than normie nu-40k fan slop with a billion of dlcs to absolutely milk the consoomers dry.
I mean look at the gameplay parts. Looks absolutely atrocious. From some pics/ concept art it also seems it will be fully on board with ******* and women everywhere, just as with most media in recent years since GW really has pivoted to implement DEI everywhere.
Might have given it a try if it was 40k, but 41k is a no.
What are the major differences?
Primaris marines, the Great Rift, Rowboat Girlyman was rezzed and became the protagonist, Yvraine a ****. Basically they advanced the timeline for the first time in six million years and I don't like most of the new stuff. I also feel like their approach shifted from worldbuilding to storytelling, although that's a vague claim that I can't really back up with anything specific.
But like... I don't know what any of that means. The Great Rift are warp storms that have torn the imperium of man, Roboute Guilliman is that blonde guy with the excel sheets, right? I thought he was one of the cool guys. Warhammer is so convoluted. To me there is no real difference between 40k and 41k. I would imagine as a fairly new commer to the genre I would enjoy them both equally.

40K used to be a galaxy with lots of nooks and crannies and unexplained **** that you could build your own fantasy from. 41K is an on-rails storybook, and the story's quality is trending the wrong direction. Two Primarchs back, Roboute being set up as the new Horus, female Custodes, female SM coming soon (anyone who thinks they aren't is delusional or just a ******).
I'd rather have a big galaxy I can sandbox in and come up with my own wild lore than a story game whose story I hate and that I know I will hate more as time goes by.
EDIT: grammar fix.

I'd be interested to know who's on charge of the GW product lore. Is it just shareholders and CEO? Do they have an official writer? Is it devs? Is the person in charge a boomer and only upon their death will we get some good stuff?

As I understood it (from when I cared enough to try to keep track), it's the other way around. There were some holdout boomers ensconced in vital chokepoints in the company who were doggedly refusing to allow the lore to be wokefied. Supposedly their days were numbered and the newer management had decided to just wait them out. That was years ago.
It looks like the old guard finally lost the fight.
Maybe not such a bad thing. Things like this cause waves - we are just waiting for the new Warhammer thing that's not Warhammer made by people that get what Warhammer is about better than the people that are currently making Warhammer. If you get what I mean.
