To provide a fair dissection, the singular problem here is that we know the hedonistic depravity Larian is already willing to stoop to prior to this trailer reveal. We know they endorse ********, child grooming, satanic dogma, foreign refugees, homosexuality, and many other sentiments or beliefs.

If this was a studio who was doing this kind of stunt for pure shock horror value but clearly did not endorse such acts, I could give acceptance of that. This is not the case, everyone knows it isn't, and from hereon the bugmen gamers will pretend that is so. "It's just fantasy." A key aspect of manipulation is rewriting the past, in this case Larian's willingness to kowtow to hedonistic desire over a story that will actually leave cultural impact.

In short, yes, this trailer got our attention. Wasn't hard when all its contenders was identical slop with millenial meta humour, female protagonists, and indie trash.

Yeah, my guess is it was depicting the "evil races" like goblins and lizardmen doing heinous ritual stuff, but the plot is hinting to be "but actually we have to do this ritual to keep the even bigger evil demons (who happen to use white men as hosts) contained in their prisons."

Then all the gross habits like "vomiting to feed the pigs" is just "well it's tradition/we don't know better"

Putting aside it being shock advertising, there's no way this isn't going to be turbonigger woke if the very first thing is a super inclusive every ethnicity represented festival straight out of that d&d pic that was making the rounds a month or two ago. I don't care if the multi ethnic hedonistic Midsomer wicker man orgy festival complete with children was mashed into a demonic whatever, it's still gay. Absolutely. Great game to be honest, a little bit "console" like in terms of its play, but has all the depth of secrets and typical early Larian humor and design concepts. Oh and it looks and plays really nice on a triple screen.
