Overview

This mod is a carefully curated selection of cosmetics in TF2. I went through every item in the game and determined if they should remain visible based on factors such as each mercenary's personality and nationality, the time period of TF2, color schemes, plausibility, and more. With this mod, the scout will not look like a medieval knight, the pyro won't have a sea bass strapped to his back, and the heavy cannot be a yeti.

You will need to choose between the following options by downloading the YES or NO version below. For what it's worth, I've been using YES with no issues.

Installation Instructions
  1. Drag file into \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom



To Do
  • Restore the old main menu
  • Remove ****** paints
  • Remove unusual effects
  • Remove ****** weapon skins (festive, australium)
  • Remove warpaints

Download the Custom Cosmetic Disabler tool. Then you can use my settings as a baseline.

I am looking to hire any capable modders :wise:
To Do
  • Restore the old main menu (mostly done with a few issues that need resolving)
  • Remove ****** paints (works in community servers but makes startup times worse, need to optimize and get working in casuals)
  • Remove unusual effects (need to test)

I'm getting a friendly BR furry to help make my ideal main menu, replacing the modernized piece of **** one. It has a few issues and is missing some buttons so I disabled it, only to be greeted with the current Christmas background.

Updated for Smissmas 2025. It was a shockingly tasteful collection, with a few exceptions. Nearly all weapons can get those ******** Christmas lights strung on them now, so that's an annoying ******* problem.
