Do you know good private server for Lich King? I think you call them blizlike or something. Witch one of them best you can recommend?
Warmane's 'Lordaeron' one is the one i've been hopping on to every now and again. Keeps things mostly 'Blizzlike', but it has its fair share of bugs, as well as the occasional griefer. There might be better ones but i'm content with stickin with it to scratch my WoW itch
Eventually... the itch for me will become overwhelming and I'll have to scratch it once again... my LP and work load is keeping me occupied for now but at some point I'm going to have to fire up a Paladin somewhere with the brother as he asks every 2 weeks or so when I feel like "crusading again" lol... Might have to get an all Pally/Priest group going once more and try to get 3 or more others in on it if and when it happens...

i'm tempted to make a paladin and get on that grind again, made a meme one a few weeks ago called 'Ikillniggers' as seen a few pages back (while i was drunk), but Siegfried yearns to crusade once more... :knight:

Got my warrior to level 80. Bought the transmog sets I wanted. Pretty much just waiting for the patches to unlock so I can buy certain toys and get the green Scythe of the Unmaker and the Fel corrupted Shalamayne.

Image

I wound up turning off Heroic Difficulty World Tier.

The satisfaction of progression in ye old MMOs wasn't just number going up, but the tangibility of becoming more powerful. You stepped out into a zone for your level and struggled against mobs there, maybe even had to party up with other people. Meanwhile, you could see across that ravine to another zone with way higher level monsters there that would kill you, and even higher level players fighting there. It gave you something to aspire to, and it felt satisfying to finally overcome the current zone you were in and set forth in a new zone and have to start pushing against that one. And then you eventually run through all of these zones you have overcome, and can use your power to aid low level players.

I wasn't getting that from HWT, because the whole world is level scaled. It doesn't matter where you go. There are no zones or mobs far too high level for you, nor any zones or mobs you will out level. So you never tangibly, visibly progress. So you are back at the Retail WoW problem where the only "progression" is arbitrary invisible numbers going up with your stats. Is that Boomking in 740 mythic gear running who queued as a healer sprinting through these heroic dungeons decimating everything? Maybe, but it's still the same heroic dungeons I have been doing over and over, rather than a new place. That is not satisfying progress to me. So it's just taking longer to kill the same stuff you are going to have to kill over and over and never get satisfaction from it.

Nor was the open tag quest based gameplay facilitating socialization. For the zone questlines, everyone is on a different step which makes it difficult to get a group together on the same page (especially for these very long questlines with many quest steps, as opposed to something like FF11 where there are fewer nation missions and thus people are less likely to be on completely different stages of the journey). The world quests are more universal since everyone sees the same WQs, but then you run into the issue that they are open tag. So people can just fly there and run in and deal damage and leave without needing to actually party up. And the WQs are so short that people don't chat or make friends like in a 2 hour long EXPing session.

The Lorerunner (the Star Trek guy) had a complete playthrough/coverage of almost the entire Warcraft storyline, from the RTS games to the books to the questlines in WoW, up through Legion. I think the only thing he missed were the then removed questlines like the original Vale of Eternal Blossoms questline, and then he lost his Siege of Orgrimmar video to a hard drive failure. Around BFA his interest in WoW waned. But that's dozens of hours of videos, not exactly bitesized content.

There are the World of Roguecraft videos, which were a combination of machinima and impressive self imposed rogue PvP challenge compilations.

Probably highlight reels of hardcore WoW deaths.

World of Roguecraft is so based. Inspired me to play a rogue back in the day (tho it did for a lot of people)

@Val the Moofia Boss How do you feel about Midnight introducing Story Mode Raids? Seems like they will have Questlines that require raids to be done to continue, so they made it so that people who might not be ready for raiding or only want solo or small group content can get through.
Also a hunting system called Prey is getting added?
They will also add a guided tour with Jaina or Thrall it seems for people who have been out of the loop regarding Warcraft

Story mode is pointless to me since you can just join a normal raid PUG and go through it day 1 with no addons and beat it. You just have to do a few hours of fsrming delves or M+ to raise your ilevel to get accepted, or put up your own raid listing on group finder and let the applocations roll in and click accept on whichever ones you like. LFR is bad because you get teleported into the instance and teleported between wings at different points in time. It is not a coherent immersive experience. Story mode is even worse because you just get teleported to the final act of the raid story.

Prey was covered a couple times. It sounds neat on paper, will have to see how it turns out. I wound up turning off Heroic World Tier difficulty in Remix because it was just making the stuff take longer eithout the satisfaction of being able to progress to new zones or waltz through old ones.

Always wanted to play WoW back in the day, alas time and money were not on my side and by the time I remember to try it when both those resources were more readily available, Blizzard and everything surrounding them turned to **** not worth the time and money I now had.
That being said, am tempted these days for whatever reasons, not sure why. So I wanted to ask what your latest and preferred ways of playing WoW in any form are.

1. Turtle WoW for the most resilient and updated Classic+ experience. Has some P2W bonuses, though they're not that bad. It's currently facing a lawsuit from Blizzard so who knows if it'll survive, but it's been up for 7 years.

2. Blizzard's TBC (second expansion) Classic Classic will be launching this Winterish. It's going to be dominated by bots and Asians, but there's no risk of it going down until it progresses into WOTLK.

3. SoloCraft if you're autistic and want to play singleplayer with AI companions. Or you can make your own server

4. Wait for the Next Big Private Server to launch and probably die, but hopefully you'll get to play fresh for a bit.

I got ****** when a friend wanted to play Epoch instead of TWoW. Maybe they'll do another fresh realm at some point.

Very straight forward answer, I don't really go to many forums and the only other forum I can ask about WoW that isn't plagued with ******* and homos would probably call me a ******** homo for asking instead of sifting through 400+ potentially outdated pages, much appreciated.
Once upon a time I was very into multiplayer games, now the collective intelligence of the internet has gone off a cliff since everyone-from little Timmy with his iPad to Poojeet of trash mountain-can access it, ultimately making the internet easier to access and making playing them a hit or miss. SoloCraft might be worth my time but making my own server that I can do whatever I want sounds far more appealing.

Deplorable behavior. Blizz needs to add an AI that detects when people harm POC's and other marginalized folk in their games, NOW.

My guess is that whoever is currently the Hearthstone art director is not stringent on characters looking on model when dolling out assignments to the contractors and then reviewing the work they send. If you go back to the original Hearthstone release, the characters looked very on model, though several of the artists back then were veterans of the Warcraft TCG (some of them even being ex MTG artists) and a lot of the card art was straight up imported from the TCG. As the years go on, you get art like pirate Garrosh which kinda still looks like him but you are getting farther off target.

While I don't mind some creative freedoms, that hearthstone rastakhan looks nothing like the one we know. It looks like a completely different character.

You can use Google Gemini's Nano Bannana 2 Pro feature to make fake WoW screenshots. It seems to make them in the style of classic WoW, though.

The new housing editor music gives me nostalgia. Reminds me of spending countless hours in Spore's editor, making custom creatures and buildings and maps back in the day.

I really like the housing system but I dislike the fact that the house looks so much like horde barracks. I want something more blood elf-like.

Yeah can't do much for the exterior at the moment. I have been making a Tauren tent interior. Wish I could drape over the exterior of the house with the curtains and make a tepee but sadly those can't be placed outside. Or at least, not the big square curtains. The triangle curtains can so maybe if I buy a ton of those I could do it.
