PCG always followed the current thing a lot, even when they were still good. Immensely enjoyed reading the UK version back in the early to mid 00s, but the rankings..
I distinctly recall that they put Vice City in first place in 2003. Deus Ex, Half Life and Medieval Total War were in top 5 iirc. SS2 apparently in 11th, from a thread I found on ttlg.
So whilst they did stick to boosting great games, they bent the knee to whatever was hyped up at the time as well. Shame that the Uk edition never got archived on retromags. Tears in the rain.

The UK edition went bad as well at almost the same time, when Rossignol and Gillen went off to start Rock Paper Shotgun.
