There will be no substantial impact.

The videogame hyperevolved within a thirty year timespan from the 80s to the 10s. We went from little pixel games like Wizardry to ludicrously high production value games. The "mid budget" games we consider today would be obscene by the standards of the 90s. It costs a lot of money to keep 20+ guys on payroll, buy their yearly Photoshop and Maya subscriptions, buy and maintain their work rigs, pay someone to keep up with the law and regulations and to be shopping for insurance packages, etc. This is a collaborative effort so you probably want an office to meet at which means rent and expensive electricity bills for all of those computers and so on. The cost of advertising is more fabulously expensive than ever before. Etc. People want good looking games which cost too much money for randos to make out of pocket. Mortgaging your house for a project you believe in doesn't cut it anymore. Most game dev companies were undisciplined, hiring too many people and growing too big when revenue did not increase enough to support that growth, and wound up having to merge or get bought out. Now we have a companies like Ubisoft and EA or Square or SEGA owning most stuff. Those corporations were infiltrated from the ground up by leftists identifying corporations as powerbases. They got into the HR depsrtment and started gatekeeping for their comrades and booting out people who dissented. There is just no way for a young man who does not toe the party line to get in there and to make a game that he would be proud of. And aside from Kurt Schilling, conservatives with money don't start their own studios to produce art that reflects their values. They just retire to their mansions. And again, you need to hire a lot of people to make these games, which is a vulnerability when it just takes a few infiltastors to take control from the bottom up. Hollywood executives have called out the woke crap their companies are making, but the rot is at the bottom level and is too widespread to identify and root out entirely.

There are more indies being dumped onto Steam every year, but only a miniscule amount of them get noticed. Most make zero impact.

We have the unenviable task to live in the ruins of civilization; forcing us to build a new one. To top it all off: the people we want to help are like the civilians in the Matrix. So many [ethnic] Americans rely on this current system and will work to destroy you rather than gamble on the unknown that comes from being "unplugged." I would love for more right wing oligarchs to throw their money in the fight like Donald J. Trump did, but the conditions of this field just does not allow that kind of mindset to flourish. Its a self-perpetuating cycle. The less right-wingers throw their cash as weight, the more the left takes over, which makes fighting even riskier so less right-wingers throw their cash as weight...

I assume everyone knew this happened. It was really obvious back when BG3 was released as many of the reviews that criticized the degenerate fetish stuff suspiciously disappeared shortly after they gained traction. Back when I bothered to write reviews I had several purged without warning from the GoG storefront as well. I even slightly reworded them to be less harsh but continued to mention the propaganda angle and they were still nuked a few days after I reposted them. I think GoG even added filters for certain words that prevent your reviews from being posted. It's either that or my account got blacklisted and all my reviews had to be manually approved by someone. The sad thing is even alternative review sites like HowLongToBeat are now doing the same thing. My account on that site just got straight up deleted one day without my knowledge and when I inquired about it they just responded with "you don't have an account here."
