This was a really disappointing way to find out there's a new Metroid coming out.

Because this game was made during the height of the Woke Era where Japan outsourced a lot of their writing to the West. It is just now that many Japanese companies are now seeing how much of a bad idea that was given that companies like Square Enix are now cleaning house with the possibility of moving away from the West. Given the recent successes of the Demon Slayer movie and Chainsaw Man movie I think Japan is realizing that they really don't need to kowtow to the West anymore to be profitable, especially now that the USAID money is no longer flowing.

They were failed hominid experiments that Yakub intended to destroy but they escaped and are now a plague in the world of man.

@Roguey I recall …avellone? I think? referencing a scripting language used by Interplay for the Star Trek games, do you happen to remember anything about this?
Thank you for your attention to this matter!

They should've hired actual Sci-Fi authors to pen the script. We could've gotten an interesting result out of it at least.
The Metroid Prime series was always American, Japs weren't really into first person shooters, very American genre. https://www.mobygames.com/game/7783/met ... tform=true
No recollection of anything on this.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ November 16th, 2025, 05:16@Roguey I recall …avellone? I think? referencing a scripting language used by Interplay for the Star Trek games, do you happen to remember anything about this?
Overwatch is releasing another strong independent woman

I haven't played in years, but if you told me that was a reskin or reimaging of Brigitte I would believe it.
I can't guess anything about how this character plays based on the design
tried playing the sacred 2 remaster today, graphiccard gets way too loud for such a game with settings to minimum, even if I disable vsync in the nvidia pannel (the remaster doesnt even have that ingame option). Cant zoom out far enough, hard to even hit enemies at all in the game. And deinstalled.
"I don't care what they tell you in College of Winterhold, Tiber Septim was a Redguard.”
Well, at least it's not Concord-levels of ugly.

Finished Dispatch (2025), a recently released TellTalle-like game from Critical Role. It's like a very, very expensive Choice of Games (Choose Your Own Adventure) title, with the same okay-ish illusion of choice and the same 8 chapters/episodes format.
The writing is kinda on par with the more middling official releases, though it's still millennial capeshit slop. It has the "adult cartoon" problem of there being far too much profanity and toilet humor, sadly. If you're gonna play it, I'd recommend turning on the nudity filter, because there's only like two boob shots and far too many close-ups of floppy penises.
It was not nearly as pozzed as I expected it to be, though, considering the Critical Role involvement. I don't remember a single ******/homo character, but there's warrior muscle girls, pathetic male himbos and ******* aplenty. I thought it was gonna be a Dustborn-levels train wreck, to be honest.
Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad is playing the protagonist and he's doing a good job; I didn't know it was him until I looked up the game on IMDB and saw his face.
The main gameplay loop is an engaging management sim. You send superheroes to different emergencies and have to mix and match them to best suit the situation. Some character combos get synergy bonuses and their abilities stack to great effect. It might be a bit simple, but I'd be happy to play something like this casually to relax even without all the TellTale movie crap surrounding it. It has the potential to be as cool as Plants vs. Zombies if it were properly expanded upon.
Overall, I don't think I can recommend it.
It's very mid, as the kids say, in every aspect. The writing is neither amazing, nor in the "so terrible you gotta see it" territory. The acting (voice over and animation) are solid, but not Oscar-worthy. The graphics are nice, but not that mindblowing - it looks like a decent 3DCG anime. The music is forgettable and the sound mixing was weirdly flat(?) (I can't explain it better as I don't know the technical terms).
What gameplay is there is not enough to carry the whole game. If it were a more developed game on its own, it'd be pretty nice. But as is, there's not enough of it. And what is there is just alright instead of great.

"Oh, it all makes sense now, brother."
Is the basketball court for the black friends he pretends to have?
A lot of the sfx was not just low in volume, but the entire mix sounded super compressed, lacking any dynamic range. The effects themselves are not great either, a lot of things like gunshots, explosions, punches, lack any bass punch/sub-bass rumble. The bit where Robert beats the **** out of Shroud sounds especially egregious, you barely hear the hits and they sound super weak.logincrash wrote: ↑ November 18th, 2025, 19:00Finished Dispatch (2025), a recently released TellTalle-like game from Critical Role. it's annoying how people are lapping this **** up and saying "oh you gotta play it, this is like the greatest thing since avengers, and it's totally not woke because you can romance the scantily clad hot women!"logincrash wrote: ↑ November 18th, 2025, 19:00it's still millennial capeshit slop. the overton window has shifted that far, the coomerbait multiracial capeshit slop with muscular women and soyboys is basically the new norm.
a bunch of people IRL has already tried to shill this game to me. One of them previously shilled Expedition 33.

That is basically what they are going to do now which is more or less go back to the type of propaganda you saw in the 90's and early 2000's. They will still try to promote liberalism and other retardation with their games and movies but will be more subtle with the propaganda going forward. You will now start seeing them throw a bone to straight men in that you will now start seeing attractive women in games and movies as well as male characters (especially white male characters) not be constantly emasculated as much anymore. Hell, they may even be allowed to save the girl and save the day in the end too now. However, I think the genie is out of its bottle with this. People are now more aware of the type of propaganda being pushed in entertainment nowadays so it will be interesting to see how things are now going to be like going forward. One thing I can safely say is that games like Dustborn and Concord will never be made again in the foreseeable future. Those games were peak woke and will serve as a lesson on how to not write and create propaganda.

I dunno. European Council will still fund that type of **** even if the US has paused until a Dem gets into office again.
But you are right that it's more obvious now. I used to watch Walking Dead. I was mostly ambivalent about the progressive stuff like girlbosses, Michonne, etc., even when they started with the lesbian characters. Then they showed two men kissing and I was instantly repulsed and it killed all enjoyment I had for the show. I didn't even think of it as propaganda at the time, just natural repulsion, but now that the cat's out of the bag on *why* they would show that, and how it's supposed to be "normal" so it's in everything now...
I'll just stick with old media, whatever.

One apartment, many stories: Witness turning points in the lives of the inhabitants of an apartment in Berlin over the course of a whole century.

But does it have a candy room?
Does Gabe just want to live in international waters for the rest of his life? Curious.
Noticed just now that a few weeks ago Interplay increased the price of their Dark Alliance I and II ports from $30 to $40

The typical thing to do would be to discount it heavily so a bunch of casuals will say "Sure, why not" but we have some real galaxy-brained thinking here.

More likely is that Gabe has a knife room.
