Howdy there. This is important, so please read through all of it and don't skip a beat.

So... It's nice that so many people assume me as "dead", and furthermore assumed I would never work on this modpack again. Unfortunately for some people, both are incorrect.

For one, I'm still alive and well, and have been taking some time off between the moment Hurricane Helene hit, putting up with ill-behaved people in various social spaces, all the way to getting my accounts broken into, to here and now, where a friend has informed me of a mirror (for the record, you can keep it here, even after I re-up things on my end) and some questionable commentary related to these matters.

Allow me to explain, as this is not a tale for the faint of heart, as true as it is. Let me do so with a timeline.

Last year, shortly after I mentioned on MutantMod's (at the time) latest video that I was planning to get to work on the modpack some more (and had been making progress some time up to that point), Hurricane Helene struck. And it struck HARD.

Image
Image

I had no idea that it would do so that morning, and was walking home from shopping. Those two images were taken while I was walking, almost died due to the wires blocking my way home.

Spending a month without electricty (due to the most asanine technicalities the electric company could come up with) while everyone else got theirs back within a week was exhausting, as I had to spend it with one of the most anti-progressive, anti-anyone-or-anything-"non-white-working-male" beings I know: my dad. I still had my computer and Xbox, so during the month of October, I had tried catching up with old social groups while at his place. However, things weren't the same, more like hostile even. Topping that month off was The Frontier Team releasing a new version of their project. It dampened hopes for a bit, and I tried to move on...

November was a month where I was intending to recover, but family issues strike again with mental health case workers who used to be my own, and are still doing work for some family, telling me how worthless I am. Contrary, you can tell from my work on the modpack and other projects that I still actively maintain (they keep me going somehow, as you can see below), "useless" is not a valid descriptor.

Image

Speaking of, news came through regarding said modpack mentioned above, or rather, the game it's for. SEGA was soon to pull the plug on purchases of Crazy Taxi, and it frustrated many people, including myself. Even though December came and SEGA did not listen, I do intend to update that with proper installer functionality.

December was also a very bad month for both my physical health and mental health, with multiple surgeries (some were literal pains in my behind), an emergency room visit due to accidental mold inhalation (leftovers from the hurricane, and on Christmas Day, even), and old friends quickly back-stabbing me and lumping me in with garbage people for their own selfish purposes. Social life was a nightmare during this and the month after.

The next few months were spent attempting to recover from so many months of chaos and destruction, though people in some social circles again assumed all I'm capable of is "troublemaking" and threw me further into dismay, especially in late March. I assessed such damages, and determined some communities were not worth my focus. I also had to sell off my Xbox Series X due to bills post-Helene becoming a massive burden, and things were harsh.

And then, May, the month with the utmost reason as to why I almost seceded from the world: Hell-bent, eerily-determined, over-assuming, under-estimating, brute-forcing HACKERS. And of all things, from Omsk, Russia.

I'll keep this brief, but as packed as possible.

Who- or what- ever dug into my accounts, seemed at first focused on gaming-related things. Started with a notif about my MS account, then my EA and Ubi accounts, and then Steam accounts, and pretty much anything I hadn't already began experimenting with MFA upon. Turns out they'd bruteforced into my gmail as well, and not long after I began attempting to make a callout video for my (now as dead as said gmail) Youtube channel, they attempted to bruteforce and abuse my phone to try hacking into the payment methods still on the MS account (attempting to change the gamertag perhaps). Before that, they had made fraudulent charges on various banking apps, so make of this what you will.

Unfortunately for them, they left such massive papertrail, failed at many things that allowed me to track their behavior (apparently one such operation is a Steam Card Farm in Omsk, ran by someone I guess by the name of ACHI as the logins seem to imply), and lost whatever entry points they were using once I obliterated my gmail and anything I could care about having been tied to it. While I was able to recover some accounts, others I was able to curtail by means of my colleagues, friends, and even family remaining vigilant. Things seemed to begin looking up.

June came around, and I had successfully deleted an alternate Steam account I had (burner for testing other games). I had already recovered many other accounts, and made others, but... Not even an hour or two after the burner account had been deleted, this person regurgitated comments of other people on one of the artworks they felt they could do so with. Not only is that spam, but you can do the math here and see why it's concerning.

It was already fairly late for them to have even bothered, even if it was them or not. I'm one to make copius, and I mean TRUCKLOADS of backups wherever and whenever possible. I'm already back at work on the modpack thanks to said backups, and I will soon be making a new modpage for this modpack. People who want to keep harrassing me and prodding at me after not only all of the above having occured, but also my real family having to battle dopeheaded thieves that stole THOUSANDS of USD worth of heirlooms and work equipment from my mother's garage after the structure was FINALLY demolished post-hurricane damages, well...

A late friend of mine had a quote. It can apply to anyone who works a bit too hard at something, so let me recount it for you.

"Y'know, it's okay to quit while you're ahead."

As for accounts that seem to have gone dark, including my old socials and even my old NexusMods account, they are by all means inaccessible, the phones and authenticators needed to access them have long been destroyed and the numbers shuffled away. I will note that the removal the vehicular-related mods from it were done by my own hand, and in time, I will find a better way or place to host them. Meanwhile, sit tight and understand that a lot of what's gone on over the past year would have easily destroyed any other human being. Many of my accounts are still intact, and my project files and tools, also intact.

Now, I will be honest and make this perfectly clear, I have no hate for Russia, I have no hate for their people, no matter their profession, legit or not. When it comes to criminals, I also do not have hate. Instead, I have utmost dissapointment for those who actively damage, abuse, and attempt to overtake those who are already poor, struggling, and hurting as it is. I would rather such people with such "talents" make use of resources in the third largest city of the country they reside in, and apply their "skills" to more constructive and productive lines of work than "killing other's 'rich' to give to their own poor".

There was a lot leading up to this, including whatever nonsensical "virtue-signalling" that was done by whoever to cut their country off from the world. Not only was it unneccssary, but it caused their average people pain and distress and was still easily circumvented by those in the know. While the extent the criminal-minded people there went to and the damages they may have done may make me a technical war-crime victim... Yet I survived enough to not hate them, but instead forgive them and wish them well at doing better things with their time. Seriously, they should be doing better things with their time.

To iLuvSeaFood: Sorry about that, the guide page for it is indeed down for now. I took it down myself at some point, and fortuntely a very wishful, thankful friend took note and directed me here. Seems they've been making use of it, and they know I'm a busy bee. There's more in the pipeline, just needed to unclog some nonsense and garbage from my life first!

To Pikamaster128: See all that above? That's what happened! I go by a different name now simply because the old things tied to it are (or if not, ideally should) be locked down, deep-frozen and charbroiled like whatever leftovers there are after cyberattacks. Trust me on this, it was not an good time, at all. If you see any suspicious activity on things with the old defunct "VV" name and insignia, report it where-ever and when-ever possible!

To Oyster Sauce: That is a very unusual stance to take, especially towards someone you don't know, and to say as a Site Moderator, at that. I'm unsure what your intention with your post was, I don't expect an apology, and I do have forgiveness in my ol' heart, so consider yourself kindly pardoned. Though, perhaps at least have some decency towards people who make the mods that your site seems to thrive upon, aight? People are thankful and I am blessed and fortunate to be alive, regardless of who or what I am.

All that said, though, I have a lot of of ground to cover, a lot of work to do, re-learning the G.E.C.K., getting tools set back up, protytping and producing a few vital and much-needed updates for the FOMOD, and even including something I'd set out to do nearly a year ago. I can still make this year a sparkling one for Vegas...

Give me some time, have some understanding, live life and learn. Don't assume, don't hate, don't misinformate. Do watch, do listen, have fun and...

Viva New Vegas, 2025!!

Thank you for reading, and have fun with this version here in the meanwhile.

Sincerely,

-BUNSMOKE-

Sincerely,

-BUNSMOKE-

Hey, at least you know I'm working on it again, and yeah, I know I could have made it shorter.

That said, I ain't here to fart around with careless folks. I'll be off to having fun, ya'll feel about that how ya want.

Cheers~
Hi Bunsmoke, glad to hear you're alive, was a little worried when your account seemed to vanish most everywhere I looked when I was trying to find the download for your fixed cars mod.

For context, you used one of my mods in your modpack, I've tried to reach out to say thanks for bugfixing it and providing such a good curation of mods together in one place, but unfortunately I've never been able to make communication.

Anyway, sounds like you've been through hell. I hope things go on an upturn for you from now on. Take care
