The game still has too many *******. There's way too many women soldiers and all of them are competent badasses while the men are all either cowards or get injured first.
Both the factory and the town that got flooded have competent male leaders
The flooded town mayor is not a soldier. The military general or marshal or whatever he is at the mech factory is incompetent in that he ignores a real threat instead of working on a solution.
The flying fortress military general or marshal or whatever is incompetent in that he's too busy killing his own soldiers "as traitors" while ignoring an obvious traitor who has a secret office on the very same floor as his.

I think I read that as 'leader' :scratch-pipe:
Pretty sure he is military tho iirc

I agree(if it's your claim) that the game just treats men and women as men, the game doesn't seem to actually have any women that act or behave like women.

Outer Worlds 1 was "All capitalism bad, m'kay"
It was "corporations bad." The best endings came about by reforming the system, not destroying it. Boyarsky gave an interview up front saying he supports capitalism and loves money.

Replayed his quest. The mayor is military, you're right.
But he is a ******. Obviously he couldn't be anything other than a "virtuous and wise black man who does everything in his power to protect his community."

There's also an audio log of some chick who says she misses her wife and how she wants to be with her in the afterlife in the very first town. So, I guess the "no ****" claim about the game is deboonked.
There are two male Protectorate deserters that you can save from death. One sounds gay, the other looks gay. Both refer to each other as "partner."

Tried replaying this in a more straightforward fashion (doing all the quests properly instead of murderhoboing my way through). Got to the second planet. The entrance to the first "town" has a bunch of refugees. The only two named ones with dialogue are two ******* who call each other "honey" and "darling." One's a ***** of some sort, the other is a pale ginger ****** (african facial structure, pale skin, red nappy hair).
Then all of my companion dialogue got reset and I had to have the same conversations I'd already had. Decided that was a good sign to stop and deleted the game.
All in all, it's very pozzed. There are too many women in positions of power and a few prominent homosexual couples. I don't think I've seen a single straight couple yet.

And the 2nd planet is still one of the more enjoyable planets... later you visit a ship from auntie and the praetor planet where it just dark with storms most of the time. Not much blue sky later. Cloister seems to be a snow planet... dont think many blue or green places after that anymore. Shame is tho you cant visit all areas in aunties ship if you play as a murder hobo. :/

So now they've switched to a new censorship tactic on the steam forums. Instead of deleting threads and banning people, they are "insulating" themselves from criticism by moving all critical posts and threads to a low-traffic child forum and merging them together. But I can't stop, won't stop bashing their gay game for gay *******. With God as my witness, their ****** moderators are going to have to manually move every single low-effort troll post that pops into my head.

So finally got around to having a look at this train wreck. They managed to get rid of the only **** thing I was interested in from the first dumb game.

And it's of course even MORE gay and lame now. Yeah, no thanks.

looks like the game doesnt even adress it in the end sequences if some of your companions are dead and it thinks they got away some how.

All they had to do was hire competent writers and get character artists that could and would make non DEI people.
Especially the companions. Yuck. The only visually acceptable one is the white guy.

Easily could have been FNV2 with good writers
The design and general gameplay is quite good

Obsidian got guilt tripped into adding a tribute to a 41%er by redditors.

https://outerworlds2.obsidian.net/news/ ... patch-1050

Added Fan Tossball Card for Celest Fairbrook
The Outer Worlds 2 just came out, and it's bringing up a lot of feelings for me. Earlier this year, I lost my girlfriend, and the first game was one of her absolute favorites.

After she passed, I wanted to do something to honor her, so I sent a message to Obsidian support. I basically just asked if there was any chance they could include a small tribute to her in the sequel.

To my complete surprise, they actually replied. They were really kind and said they were "open to creating a meaningful and respectful tribute" for her (her name was Celest). They asked me to tell them all about her, what she loved about the game, her favorite weapon, stuff like that.

So I did. I sent them a bunch of info and memories, hoping for the best. But after that... radio silence. I never heard back. I even tried emailing again before the launch to check in, but got nothing.

So I'm turning to you all. I can't afford the game right now, but it would mean the world to me to know if she's in there. If anyone is playing The Outer Worlds 2, could you please keep an eye out for any mention of someone named Celest? Maybe a weapon name, a character, an item description, anything at all.

I know it's a long shot, but I had to ask. Thanks so much for reading this and for any help you can give.

EDIT: I don't even have the words. Because of all of you, Brandon from Obsidian saw my post and reached out. They've officially told me they will create a memorial for Celest in a future update or DLC. I'm just so grateful. Thank you to this amazing community for your support, and thank you to Obsidian for listening and doing something so beautiful. I promise to make a new post the moment I know what the tribute is so you can all find it in the game. Thank you for making this happen.
The name she chose when she started to transition was Celest Fairbrook

Hey everyone I'm celest's and OPs girlfriend (don't jump the shark it's a polycule) and when I heard what you all were doing... I'm simply stunned, never in my life would I have thought that such wonderful people exist in this world.

You have my eternal gratitude for what you've done and from what I'm told, continue to do, thank you for immortalizing someone so close to us and so cherished.

Thank you all. And may you find fortune in life

Typical Outer Worlds fans here.

It doesn't sound like they were "guilt tripped". They seem rather enthusiastic.
