This works pretty well.
I started using it today because the developers have seemingly increased fog AGAIN and some planets are pure hell to try to see on now.
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

I appear to have achieved total fog death by editing Volumetric Fog Reducer a bit. Will share later

Just a guess, but have you tried reducing the alpha value on the specific fog you're trying to remove? Presumably it has a vertex/texture/material color somewhere.
Thank you for your attention to this matter!

That's a good idea

You mean like just making the texture more transparent right?

Presumably it's rendered during the alpha pass, probably either genuine volumetric fog or a particle effect simulating it. Likely affected by alpha.
No way I could tell you if it's just using some color value or an actual texture for it

It's separate. It's a texture override that completely rapes and kills the fog completely. It also affects gas textures though

@loregamer
The F6 function to remove spores seems to have been invalidated in the latest game patch.

I tried, but I can't figure out how this works.

New patch changed Shader Hash for Atmospheric Spores. It's very easy to hunt - today it's 1153923100 for the one on Destroyer, and 1372707976 for the one in your minimap

In your hd2 game folder find ShaderToggler.ini

Change group0 pixel shaders like this:

Code: Select all

[Group0_PixelShaders]
ShaderHash0=1153923100
ShaderHash1=1372707976
AmountHashes=2
save, start the game, test

I understand the instructions, but I'm missing a lot of key knowledge to make sense of what you're saying about how to figure it out.

That's okay. I can explain if you want. Then you'll be able to fix F6 toggle every time it breaks by yourself
