Owlcat games all suck but it's true; you can't make a good RPG without a ton of bugs. That is because a good RPG has a lot of reactivity, tons of mechanics and interlocking systems and due to the complexity of all that, bugs are inevitable. You are lucky if they fix a few of them after release.
The game should do the bare minimum and be playable but that was my mistake in expecting competency from Owlcat.

Unchecked ambition always leads to the better game, even if unfinished.
Unfinished games are par the course for games especially CRPG’s. However games being unplayable is unacceptable at least IMO.

I love being constantly dissuaded from playing new video games because the devs never ******* finish them

I am still baffled by the lack of ambitious mods (ambitious here being something as basic as a custom quest) for OwlCat games.

Are they really so hard to mod that adding new content is that hard?

AFAIK, there's no modkit + they heavily extend the unity editor with custom tooling

The previous build (1.4.1.231) remains available through the beta branches. Use it if you have issues with mods or wish to finish your playthrough without the changes. Note that saves made on 1.5 won't load on 1.4.

I think I just want something 40K but I always end up disappointed. I don't care about the companions or the story although I think the story could work if it was done differently.

I don't know why but I'll keep at it for a little bit more. I think I should at least give it more of a chance.

Maybe I need to open them up a bit more.

So far they're all just 'ok'. They don't really have character.

Companions here aren't that bad. As far as Owlcat goes this is the best they've done. I haven't dived deep into the DLC characters, but the base ones feel like they are there to introduce the basics of the Warhammer universe. In that sense they could feel a bit "ok" or bland. Abelard is a navy officer, Argenta is a devoted but torn Sister of Battle, Yrilet is some ******* xenos that introduces you to their culture and so on.

I just wish they explained better how the ******* Space Wolves aren't heretics when they have "runepriests" that draw powers from the "underverse". Overall no matter how much lore you dump into the warhammer universe it seems to be inherently flawed.

I recently started a new run and decided to this time play as a psyker. To my surprise, it isn't as reactive as I was expecting so far.

Like I imagined that perhaps Argenta would have a few negative things to say to me as I am a "witch" just like the negress, but she doesn't comment on that.

Perhaps the space wolf may have some things to say when I finally reach the point when he joins my party since his chapter's hypocritical hatred for psykers is supposed to be infamous.

Why would Argenta have a problem with you when you are sanctioned? Negress is unsanctioned and thus a danger to all

Went over it earlier in the thread but you interact with only a handful of people in the entire game who are your peer. Ofc they won't have an issue with it, it's not their place.

It is unbelievable how many times she puts the ship at danger. Involving her in anything psyker related makes things harder every god **** time.

Idira is one of those companions you only keep around for content, because any sane person would've killed her ages ago.

Game gives you valid reasons to keep her around. She saved your predescesor life countless times, and she only died because Idira wasnt there to warn her. Its basically having a cheat code against death, and it bears out in more than one ambush.
I think they struck a good balance between justifying her existence on the ship and presenting her as an absolute liability. That said, if you serve the Emperor it is impossible to justify her existence, you dont need her, the Emperor himself has your back.

New survey about future dlcs, the usual owlcat survey. Haven’t finished any of the expansions so my eyes just glided through this. You get to rank what you would potentially like the most in your dream companion. Gender is in there and so is sexuality. Potentially ugly steps in the wrong direction.

I reached the part where I first fight a Word Bearer heretic astartes, and it's laughable how comically weak an enhanced superhuman monstrosity is in this encounter where all my companions are panicking.

The ******* heretic sniper at the edge of the map is more tedious to kill than a "chosen of chaos". It was definitely far too early to introduce a chaos space marine.
