It's completely insane that VT2 has received more new maps since Darktide's launch than Darktide has, and this is after their song and dance about how hard it is to make new maps. I'll take my Catachan Jungle Fighter or Skitarii Ranger tho.
There is a new map in Vermintide II???

one under-discussed major reason games stopped looking better is probably the shift from lightmaps to full realtime lighting/realtime GI
even raytracing is just a big kludge to get around the fact that lightmaps just look better and we won't have the hardware to do comparable rendering in real-time anytime soon

One big example of this is Destiny 1 and Destiny 2. The same places suddenly looked like **** in the second game.

The loss in the art and visual direction of Destiny cannot be overstated. As middling as the story was for the first game, at least the environment and atmosphere was top notch and felt quite unique and captivating. It's like someone sucked all the soul out of the game; which is exactly what happened looking at the current state of the game. The game peaked with Taken King.

In the late 80s, when I was a kid, games were sold on those big diskettes, later in the early 90s floppies, later in the mid 90s Multimedia CDs, then in the 00s DVDs and for the past 20 years they sell games as a big download.

Saw this video some time ago and decided to replay New Vegas for the first time after 15 years. Still as good as I remember (except the fighting part). And Dead Money was even better than I thought - best part of the game.

All I want is for them to port Destiny 1 to PC and not touch it afterwards.

With a full offline mode too. Basically what Destiny should've been on-release.

Not sure how that works though, when Destiny 1 was also very heavy on Raids and Dungeons.

I've only ever played Destiny 2, barely, but I'd imagine it could be made to work offline one way or the other. It would have to be, otherwise remastering Destiny 1 would be a pointless endeavor if it still relied on servers to function.

No Idea how but I'd be open for it. Wayfinder managed to switch from MMO always online to Offline Singleplayer with Co-op

I went back to NV sometime around January/February after not touching it for the better part of a decade and used the VNV modlist on a recommendation. Whatever mods it uses that affect gameplay I couldn't tell you but shooting things felt great. Better than FO4 at least.

ngl Multiversus looked pretty decent. I think it had a chance of success if it was sold under a more traditional business model (i.e $60 + fighter/stage DLC), and if it looked a little less like Fortnite. It could've been a proper Smash Bros competitor if it had better marketing too. It's a shame when good ideas like these flop because of ****-poor management and direction.

90% of japanese games being anime style is so silly yet nobody questions it
imagine if 90% of american games had the artstyle of Cuphead or Bendy and the Ink Machine

Super Mario 64 DS is now older than Super Mario 64 was when Super Mario 64 DS was released. :old2:
