Remember to do Dude's second quest when you can, it opens up loads of fast travel. Just be ready to handle the quest.

Just finished Depot A with a full shotgun build, using two rebels (one short one long) so I don't have to reload. Full send into perception and agility, with feats to match so I always go first. Most everything dies in one hit, plus the spread hits multiple targets as long as I line them up properly. Managed to do 8 shots in two turns with Blitz on.

Game is pish easy, should've done hard mode.

I'm sure she'll be very happy. Or not, I care little for the plight of a newly enslaved egoistic boot.

Ah, yes, my favorite part of Underrail: "Zone Transition Fail" and a save game corruption...

I haven't had that happen, but I've had crashes to the menu when it couldn't load the save for some reason, but then I just reload it again.

It looks like it's because of an antivirus block.

Once again, I say the badge should be The Eye of Tchort it's even used as the crowning achievement at the end of the game.

Finally crafted a tactical vest with the components I wanted. Quality is underwhelming though, gotta find better materials. I really like crafting in this game, more games should adopt this model with material qualities and flexible blueprints. Inventory management is a nightmare though.

You can have at least three separate hotbars. Holding down Ctrl gives you slots C1-9 and holding down Shift gives you slots S1-9.

Very intuitive and convenient.

What about the grenade? That's kind of emblematic. I have no idea how to make pixel art but something like this as a crude mockup. Obviously it'd look like **** shrunk down and the colors are far too muddy.

I don't think that's the best option, but if you can make a badge that doesn't look like a vagina maybe people will like it.

Star Wars Galaxies goes even further by having materials have varying properties instead of just 'quality', iirc each material has a range it can have for the properties. So a metal has things like conductivity, hardness, etc.,
One of the cooler crafting systems that I haven't seen anyone steal(yet)

Experience Gain Type: Oddity XP System
Current Location: Just started "Expedition" and finished fending off an attack on the camp.
Right Hand: Refurbished K&H MP6
Left Hand: Rapid 12.7mm Harbinger Commando (w/ Contaminated Rounds.)

I've got an SMG build going with heavy armor. Can't really walk very far in combat, but I've been making up for it with the sprint feat.

So far enemy psychics are my bane, my vulnerability to their mind fuckery and the inability to harm their shadowy summoned humanoid doppelgangers with bullets makes every encounter with one of these guys dangerous.

How persistent are the containers in this game? Will I be able to store crap in the lockers in the starting SGS apartment indefinitely? Or will it disappear someday?
I've been storing all my equipment in the starting apartment for a long time, so far no problems.
(Also, I always shut and lock the door... not sure if it matters, but just to be safe.)

On the topic of the badge, both @Tweed's Eye of Tchort Image and @Tangerine's character sheet icon Image get my vote.

Edit:

The oddities icon would be more fitting, but I don't know if the badge size would make it clear that's what it is.

On the other hand, the Oddity XP System really has been a highlight for Underrail. Image

A tough choice... :scratch-pipe:

The most iconic thing in Underrail though are probably the psi beetles because they're annoying, or the stalkers.

But they're not very badgecentric.

The Rathound may be considered kind of Underrail's mascot, but it is that Crawler that I will remember.
► They even 'almost' had their own plushie.
If walking into an unexplored room, that is oddly kind of open and empty... it can be worth it to preemptively lob a fire bomb or flash grenade to try and reveal those poisonous bastards.
► These things are under every rock!!!

Finished Depot A.
The OP sniper build that I was following made it very easy, since every fight was me taking out lone targets from stealth before crawling into the vents to reload and reappear someplace else. The mines and bear traps allowed to me take out everything outside. Making a mutated dog run through a couple of mines to get stuck in a bear trap to then get a molotov thrown at it was very effective, if a bit sad.
I really don't like killing dogs in this game. They look adorable and make the saddest yelp when they die.

I forgot to offer any post-mortem on my run. LMG/fusion cannon is a bit slow to get going, but that's no surprise because the game doesn't start with you an LMG and even when you first get one, you'll shoot the inaccurate. It starts taking off at about level 8-12 and then it never stops. Concentrated Fire is insanely OP for LMGs, especially once you add feats that let you shoot extra bullets. I was trying to make a regen vest to stack with Gunner's High, but every time I switched off from metal suits, I took too much damage. It's also a huge pain in the *** to find a high quality regen vest, as compared to other kinds of armor parts.

Heavy Metal is a must, but you probably won't get the benefits of it until after you get the fusion cannon, unless you really want to walk around with two LMGs equipped or a sledgehammer. I used a sledge for a little while, but the few points I spent on melee were mostly a waste. I used the refurbished thumper for the early-middle part of my run until I got my hands on the FC, which is the only heavy gun launcher in the game. I just about got wiped out when I reached the Heavy Duty DLC, I was not prepared for how tough it was, but once I got hold of the fusion cannon, it made things a lot easier. There are some nice armors to be had in the Dark Territory as well, but they have to be charged with batteries constantly. It started driving me nuts after awhile and it made me wish I had stuck to the tungsten armor I had earlier. The benefits on the exoframes are nice, but the constant recharging is insane. When the armor is off, you lose a point of strength, but when it's on you gain one extra, plus additional move points. I went with the technomedic armor for the extra regen med it uses, but I only used that a few times. Would have probably been better off sticking to the combat one.

I used a 9mm Rachet for nearly all of my run. The bigger calibers may seem nice, but the larger you go, the higher the action point costs. 9mm is 25 AP per burst, which lets you shoot twice per round and when the feats start stacking, it compensates for the smaller amount of damage done. Miniguns might be fun, but they're extremely heavy and they have to wind up. As a heavy gunner, you're going to have nearly all of your weight taken up with large quantities of ammo anyway. I was probably hording too much crap, but even then, ammo adds up. Once you can finally get a 100 round belt, you're golden. I was able to gun down nagas without any trouble.

Grenades were helpful early to mid game and then I basically stopped using them. Crits are actually everything with a LMG so I sunk into crit feats, a good pair of seeker goggles, and ate loads of hardcore chips. Heavy guns are big fun, only real drag was near the beginning and some segments where you need to watch your fire.
