The oddities icon would be more fitting, but I don't know if the badge size would make it clear that's what it is.

How about the "Start Combat" icon? Or is it too generic?
It's quite generic, other games have similar icons.
Tangerine wrote: October 7th, 2025, 17:02
What about the character sheet icon?
I like this one.
Oddities icon is nice too.
Maybe some item icon would work well too. I'll try to find something as well.

I think I've explored everywhere on the upper levels that I could find. Killed a bunch of Lunatics, Lurkers, and some Ironheads. Visited the lake cave system and found an LMG in a garage.
Does the boat on the level 9 SGS docks lead to a DLC area? And am I supposed to go into the caves through the gate on that level to do the Reclaim 5 outposts quest?

No, the Expedition expansion is on the Core City docks. The five outposts are all north of SGS in a small area.

EDIT: Wait, how can you be talking about the first mission if you've done all that stuff?

Ah, was the Omega bunker with an Electrical panel next to it and a bunch of mines all around the outpost I was supposed to reactivate?
I've done the broken camera quest and the Jack package delivery quest like two dozen times by exporting and importing the same character.

Nuh-uh, the game never said I couldn't do that. As far as I'm concerned, I was dimension hopping for a long while before actually settling in in a universe that I like (i.e. the first one after I reached level 10).

Because I like being OP and steamrolling enemies. I'm sure this will lull me into a false sense of security and the game will punish me for my hubris.
But until then I'm gonna enjoy blowing heads off with my sniper rifle, and then running away into the shadows to strike again later.

Better question is why it is a menu option if he's not supposed to use it.

I think it's a good concept. It just needs a brown/rust background instead of vantablack.

There's actually a background in there. It's the old TV/monitor lines. They're just very dark.

Tried making a badge with rust, but it looks like **** when scaled down to the smallest size. I'm not good at working with pixel art, really.

It can work with lesser thickness of the highlight as the icon will become an orange mess when downsized.

Once people coalesce around a concept I'll do a pass on it to touch things up. I think the anomaly idea is really strong. That XP system is one of the most distinctive things about the game. Perhaps a particular anomaly item would be just as representative of the system? Such as the most commonly found anomaly or the first one most people find or one that is worth significantly more XP than the others.

Gotta say, oddities icons are somewhat generic and not very representative of the game. I like some of the insignias though:

You may be right. I had an idea about SGS symbol - I think it's the teal one on the walls of their base? But it's still generic. The rat amulet and the character icon badges are the strongest candidates IMO.

Made myself a crappy 'sledgehammer armored guy who also dabbles in metathermics' build, now I can't beat Balor. Cheesed most of his ironhead friends, but he himself kills me in one hit. I'm at level 12.

Btw I always thought Balor was black. But he's white now? Was he always white, or did Styg changed his portrait with an update?

Styg should've kept Balor black. Balor is an evil giga-***** with high STR and a sledgehammer, he shouldn't look like Ryan Gosling.
