Overview
Changes some Redguard NPCs into Nords and give some Imperial, Breton & Nord NPCs with dark skin a lighter one.

Requires Skyrim Spécial Edition v1.5.97

Replace Redguards with Nords and give some Imperial, Breton & Nord NPCs with dark skin a lighter one.

  • Replace females mercenary with males.
  • Give a name to every NPCs, instead of "Citizen" "Labourer" "Mercenary" etc
  • Give hairs to bald females and fix some of the faces

Installation
  1. Pick the version you want.
  2. Place the ESP, BSA and if there is the Textures and Meshes folders of the version you want in the Data folder or use a mod manager.
  3. Verify if the ESP is activated with a mod manager, or launch the game and do it through the menu.
  4. If using the USSEP & CRF version, make sure to load it's ESP after USSEP & CRF in your load order.
ESP are flag as ESL. Meaning they do not count toward the plugin limit of skyrim.



Potential Problems
A subtle difference between torso and neck can be seen if you look closely. You can fix that by simply using a skin texture mod. Any should do just fine as long as it only touch skin textures.

If you use other mods that further change NPCs, you may experience grey face bug, to fix that you can try to;
  • Place my mod below them
  • Try some of the "grey face" / "discoloration" fix mods, there is a few of them on nexus.
  • Patch it through SSEEdit.

Hey, great stuff very cool.

I ran into some issues with conflicting mods though but managed to sort it out, the main problem child was Pandoras Npcs (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecial ... mods/19012) because it contains Saadia unique records that override these.

I was able to resolve the conflict by removing references to Saadia (https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Saadia) using xEdit (you can get it from nexus or their site), I loaded up PAN_NPCs.esp, activated mod group "Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch - All". Went PAN_NPCs.esp > Non-Player Character (Actor) > found Saadia in the list, right click & remove. clicked on the hamburger icon up on the top left > save > check the mod then click OK. (If you check the tickbox "backup" it will end up in <your-skyrim-dir>\data\sseedit backups & it will only really save once you close xedit) Will also need to delete reference files in the mod folder, (if you're not aware all mods really are are zipped folders with compile files in them etc.) depending on your mod manager there should be some button that opens the mod folder in your file explorer (or if you can find it unzip it yourself) once doing that delete the files 00013BA2.nif and 00013BA2.dds from within it, just search for them in the folder, if you modified .esp ended up in xedits backup folder, nows a good time to copy over your modified PAN_NPCs.esp file into the mod folder (replacing the old one). All said and done you should have replaced the .esp file and deleted a .nif and .dds file in the mods .zip. Finally load this mod (redguard fix) before Pandoras NPCs & Bijin warmaidens, Bijin NPCs, RSSE children overhaul (if you have them) or some hair textures seem to go wrong.

Just a note: mod managers can have a hard time realizing a mods folders content has changed sometimes so you might need to toggle disable/enable the mod or remove and add it again for it to get loaded correctly.

If I get the time I'll pack the modified Pandoras NPCs and share it but hopefully the info above will help anyone lone ranger looking for an answer.

Pandoras NPCs modified to work with Redguard fix. Should just be able to drag&drop/import into your chosen mods manager.

As mentioned load Redguard Fix before Pandoras NPCs (this modified one) & Bijin warmaidens, Bijin NPCs, RSSE children overhaul.

I've only uploaded it to cloud storage (its not on-chain) so feel free to add it to your vault.

To do a quick test to make sure its working, go to whiterun then the bannered mare and find Saadia, she should be a nord, if you have issues reply here. There might also be compatibility issues with SSE children overhaul but we'll deal with that if it happens.

There is also a Ahlam record in PAN_NPCs.esp when you open it in Xedit, need to delete that too and the matching files for 00013BBE.dds/nif

When I get a bit more time I'll do a more indepth review

No, there is too many of them to go over everything again to double check each name. (1 277 NPCs)

Good mod, I used it the last time I played Skyrim, you can actually feel in a germanic medieval kingdom that Skyrim is supposed to be with this. Too bad there is no mods to get the dark elves out of Windhelm, it would be fun.
