the only thing I'm mildly trepidatious about is some of the changes to dungeons but that could be an improvement as Oblivion dungeons are Oblivion dungeons
One of the problems in Oblivion was the samey-sameness of the dungeons.
It turns out the for most of the development period, the ******* at Bethesda had ONE GUY doing them all.
And he said that he was constantly waiting for art assetts he asked for like new area tiles, and that he was constantly fighting the more limited scripting language than Morrowind's through most of the dev cycle.
It seems that Todd Howard poured 10x the development into the Quest system, for which the dungeon guy was tasked to make them their dungeons as a priority and on demand.
Yeah, I think it was something like the one guy did ~80% of the dungeons and quit before the game came out, Bethesda hired a half dozen other goofs to get them across the finish line, and failed to document ****, leading to decades of speculation about who was responsible for what. Thank you Todd the Godd, very cool. I'll shut up about TES now.

Switch the video from IGN to this one

For some reason the IGN one is buggy. Also this looks worse than Deus Ex Revision
Image

??????
they really redid the iconic box art cover? It looks ******* horrible
They are intentionally making the characters more androgynous, like The Last of Us 2. You can see it in Gunther's posture and proportions, Anna's less feminine face, JC's less masculine face. Although they left JC with his original shoulder width which just looks comical, like a FtM ****** in football pads.

Well if at least the dialogue stays intact it might find some new fans which didnt bother yet to get the original working on a modern OS. But I guess it will get the deadspace treatment when it comes to remasters just that the graphics barely improved.
Hard to imagine anyone not interested enough to play the original looking at... this... and thinking, "Yeah, this looks worth trying."
yeah not by the looks, but there are lots of lazy people which just dont wanna bother getting old games to run.

The Dead Space remaster is very impressive technically. The art design is a different question, because they pozzed it way the **** up. I heard the writing was also worse, but I can't say that with 100% certainty.
They made Nichole into a 60 year old hag and Hammond into a straight up hood *****. They also made the one ***** a lesbo, of course.

Why do they even call them remasters?

Hmm... I'm halfway through DA Origins and VtMB and I own a bunch of the other games too. From skimming the forums, it seems there are no time limits correct? Thank you.

"we added a light and made everything else look worse, ENHANCED!"
It's worse, original game wasn't so dark, so this russoid ******* are straight up lying.
Right. I vaguely recall that the excessive darkness was a pretty common (and fixable) lighting bug with in the Unreal Engine. Sometimes I see it in random videos about the game, since the zoomer recording it would not know to look out for such bugs, assuming instead that the game is supposed to look that way.

Anyway, is it just the graphics or did they pervert anything else in this cult game? If it's just the graphics, then it's not a problem, since it looked like *** to begin with, it was not the reason it keeps getting reinstalled. On the other hand, zoomers catching up with it is a good thing, we'll have more memes.

I hope they include a simple toggle to use the original graphics like the remasters of Tomb Raider, Shadowman, Legacy of Kain, etc., because I've always thought it would be cool to play Deus Ex on the Nintendo Switch in my bathtub. I see no reason for this to exist otherwise.

I'm actually really glad that practice is catching some traction, small as it may be. The Lgeacy of Kain verison of it was really smooth, I would really like to see more of this in remasters :bounce:

At first I thought you meant the practice of playing video games in the bathtub.

But I agree. (With both)

I was not aware of these people. The project is ambitious to say the least. Mapping the entirety of Tamriel by hand? Forever WIP is very apt.
