It's more like Guild Wars (the first) if you've played it, Warframe, Diablo 2, etc., The only time you share a persistent world is the hub areas.

You can buff yourself and mutate yourself; you can throw vials with diverse effects, including transforming enemies into toads, AoE heal and damage, opening locks with melt lock, CC, DPS, etc. At 12th level, when you get 5th-tier alchemy, you can throw multivial spells. They are ludicrously powerful. Like deleting a reaper in a button press tier powerful. Alchemists also have the best physical resistance buffs; while Sor/Wiz has only stoneskin, Alchemists have stoneskin, greater stoneskin, and goldskin, giving a ludicrous DR30/+5 instead of DR10/+5. This plus displacement potion makes you quite tanky on melee.

But what I really liked about the alchemist is not its powerful spells. Is its flavor spells like Coin Breath, which literally throws molten coins, dishing fire and bludgeoning damage in a cone. And flashbang, AoE blind, and stun. And transmuting enemy flesh into golden statues or frozen statues. Making them helpless till they pass a fortitude save.

However, low levels as an alchemist are quite brutal. Like "my hireling doing more damage with basic melee attacks than my maximized empowered vial" bad.

Also, one spell "reacts" with another to unique effects in a interesting way. Is quite interesting.

Also has interesting quests, not "go fetch 50 X mobs" tier quests. Its quests are quite interesting. Even the lv 1 quests.

It's a surprisingly decent real-time adaptation of homebrewed 3.5e, some of the expansion content is very good(e.g., Ravenloft quests are actually some of the best D&D content that exists in video game form)

Yes, for eg, in the invitation to the dinner, a woman draws Tarot cards and your objectives in the castle changes with her drawn cards. Could be anywhere from the basement to the upper floor of the southern tower. So, even if you are F2P first life and needs to do the quest on normal, hard and elite, you will have variations in the experience.

I don't like much mmos. They are all about level cap gear farming, cooldown managing. But DDO is different it has interesting quests and as players tends to reincarnate a lot, SSG to this day continue launching low level stuff. The most recent expansion, another Ravenloft expansion is a 8th level expansion. Which other mmos continue launching content for mid levels near 2 decades after its release?

EDIT : In 2021, they launched Saltmarch, a 3rd level adventure expansion. I own all expansions except The Chill of Ravenloft and Magic of Myth Drannor(13th level).

First time playing Warsword Conquest as a metal wizard. Compared to Celestial magic, it is a bit "slow" to kill stuff but has less daemonic incursion risk. Also, I can cast in heavier armor with smaller casting penalties. Which is great.






Yes, you can transmute enemy armor out of existance.

I wish that the game developers had included more magical lores in video games. For example, the MMO and Vermintide 1/2 only included Bright Wizards. It would be great if I could zap vermin as a Celestial Wizard or make rain of melted metal on the enemy as a Golden Wizard. About DDO, contining as an Alchemist.

The Astronauts make better use of UE than most, perhaps even the best that I've seen personally. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (UE3) looked incredible in 2014 imo.

As an aside concerning UE, Witchfire and Stellar Blade, which both use UE4, look better than anything I've seen done in UE5.

I started as England, planning to try for the Angevin Empire for the first time. After a close, brutal war with the French (literally won two crucial fights with almost 0 morale left), I eventually made them my junior partner and then united the Isles. Becoming hre emperor was something I randomly found out i could do, I though hre emperor had to be within the hre.

I had never finished a full game in EU4 before (I usually quit around the late 17th century), so I decided to do a whole campaign for once. I was originally planning a much chiller game, but I was surprised by how easy the Age of Absolutism makes conquering, and so I rapidly expanded. The game was Ironman, but I manually saved the game after 1821 so I could continue after the end screen. I probably could have achieved a world conquest if I had planned a bit better and been more aggressive earlier.

I've revoked the Privilegia, so all of Europe is now under my control. Spain is my personal union, and I experimented with using client states in Russia (the white and grey bordergore).




My ideas: I didn't take any colonial ones, which felt weird as England, but why would you colonize when you can conquer instead?


The League War was also kind of insane. I was fighting with Austria and the Papal States when Bohemia declared on me, so it was a bit of a shitshow with our side reaching almost -65% war score before I managed to win the war.

The soundtrack was impressive, so I finally decided to give Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus a try.

The option 'Share Anonymous Analytics' comes turned on by default. So even if it is switched off after launching, the program has probably already called home with the information they wanted.

This is one of the reasons I avoided buying Phoenix Point.

The dungeon events feel a bit too random in their outcomes for my taste. But aside from that, the game gets pretty good once you've got your Tech-Priests decked out with some gear and the Necrons start fielding their more dangerous units.

I'm pretty much done with this game at this point. Just wanted to get to MSQ level 15 to check out dungeons and level 20 for the mount.

Well first I played as a Black Mage male. After reaching around MSQ level 11 I found the combat to be really bad so I switched to a different class and race. I thought I'd make a hot anime waifu this time so I did. Then I wanted to clean up the UI and install ReShade on this new playthrough which is when I found out about XIV Launcher and the mods.

There is a mod called Frost UI based on Material UI from World of Warcraft so I chose that, along with Penumbra which puts a lot of the UI clutter in a toolbar at the top of the screen. My hotbar is set to auto hide out of combat as well:



But yea since I was making a hot anime waifu character I thought I'd add loads of slutty costume mods too, it was fun.

However I just can't bring myself to carry on through the slog that is the MSQ. It's mind-numbingly boring. Developers really fell off in that area.

Whenever I play a game, one of my first questions is "how do I remove any censorship?" and also "how can I make it more immersive?", and one of those things to think about is nudity (think of irremovable underwear). I apply this mindset to both male and female characters. After all, it's a bit weird having nude females under their clothes but not any for the males. Also, in real life we are all walking naked under our clothes so what is wrong with that in a video game? It's normal.

Those porn games from GOG were lame, and I don't really play any porn games.
