Tried playing through Rondo of Blood however, and that game ****** me off to no end. Not only is it difficult, it's 'abrasively' so. It's almost as if the developers knew precisely where to place enemies and obstacles to maximize player misery, and your controls are woeful. It's straight-up NES-style controls, you can't whip in any direction but horizontally, and the flying enemies like crows are nightmares to beat. You also have very few I-frames, so you will frequently take multiple hits from a single enemy. I think the players that praise Rondo are either talking completely out of their *** ("World's biggest Earthbound fan plays game for the first time etc etc"), or are gaming legends. Either way, **** this game. 3/10.
Does anyone know if this is the same game exactly as the PSP version? If so this post sounds crazy, since that one just plays normally and is just average difficulty for these

Finished Borderlands 2. Picked it up for free when it was available, and yeah my instincts were correct about skipping it. Some of the worst attempts at humor I've ever experienced. Gameplay started off pretty lousy, became tolerable enough and then kept going back and forth between frustrating and tolerable again. Glad that's over with, never touching this again.

Not sure. The PSP version remakes the entire game in 2.5D, with voice acted real-time cutscenes included. Maybe the level layouts are exactly the same, but from what I've played of the PSP version it is significantly easier, or at least more fair in it's difficulty.

Playing Cultic Chapter 2, finished six maps so far. It's pretty decent, although not without issues.

The game is basically a Blood + RTCW + Resident Evil 4 + Half-Life They Hunger mashup.

I don't know how true it is but I remember reading years ago that the guy who voiced Handsome Jack ad-libbed most of his lines because he said the original script was bad. Now that's not exactly surprising because Anthony Burch wrote it but I can't see why anyone would want to take credit for the game's "humor."

Burch himself told this story.

https://www.gearboxsoftware.com/2013/09 ... some-jack/
*This was an adlib by Dameon Clarke, the voice of Handsome Jack. It’s easily Jack’s single most popular line, and I didn’t frigging write it. I will never forgive Dameon for this.
And yeah, Jack can be funny because of his delivery. "God these pretzels suck" isn't a funny line in and of itself, it's the way he says it.

I'll give Burch credit only for Claptrap's crying fit at the end. That robot was so annoying during every interaction that hearing him in torment at the end was hilarious.

Surprised to see Destiny is still going. Heard it's been in terrible shape for quite a while. Forsaken was probably the last decent expansion before it all went to complete ****.

RIP this ruskie, whatever his name is. Died before he could get his promotion.

Been playing in short bursts and having a blast. There are occasions where you pull off a perfect ambush (mostly by accident) and it feels amazing.

I didn't give the first X-COM much of a chance so I might have to revisit it. Also need to look for mods to remove DEI.

I know there is Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40k, and also Age of Sigmar?

I think Age of Sigmar carries on from Warhammer Fantasy, where as Warhammer 40k is it's own seperate universe. Apparently 40k used to be in the same universe as Fantasy but Games Workshop decided to split it early on.

The sci-fi/fantasy theme I saw in Darktide was cool but I liked the medieval/fantasy theme from Vermintide more. Also, people said that Age of Sigmar is a mix between the two themes??

Correct me if I am wrong?

That is pretty much correct.

As for Fantasy becoming AoS, it was because it was becoming unprofitable. Fantasy tabletop players had already bought the armies they wanted (often buying lookalike pikemen models from 3rd party companies) and threw a fit whenever GW tried to introduce cool new whacky models like Dwarf tanks for people to buy. Fantasy players weren't showing up to their local games stores with their fantasy armies. Seeing people playing with their armies is how the game gets advertised and convinces people to start purchasing their armies. LotR was more profitable and seeing more play. Meanwhile, people were showing up with their 40k armies and were buying the cool new models there. And since this business is about manufacturing and shipping lots and lots of plastic, it has thin profits margins and cannot survive a declining brand.

AoS ditches the realistic armies (stops the bleeding of sales to other companies) and makes AoS players more inclined to buy new crazy looking fantasy models. As for AoS being a "mix" of the two themes, it is because of the main poster faction of AoS, the Stormcast Eternals, look a lot like space marines from 40k.

It is Fantasy as a licensed RTS game. There are three Total Warhammer games but they each have 4 different factions. If you own multiple games, you unlock the ability to use more factions in a single game. Ie if you own the trilogy you can play as all 12 factions in the third game. There is also a lot of DLC units.
