Even though I'm not interested in Phoenix Flavor, if you want, I'll get it and see if I can crack it, then report back with instructions. So far every modpack I've tried was pretty easy to crack. I've been documenting it all on cs.rin.ru, my home forum.Rocco_101 wrote: β September 18th, 2025, 22:05Phoenix Flavor, It is relatively small in size, I couldn't download a 250GB modlist at 2MB/s.
Hi, It still doesn't work, Steam complains about licenses or something, even though I tried to crack the game once the modlist was downloaded, I'll try again later ;=/
I can tell you for a fact that MO2 is not the problem as there is no DRM of any kind built into it.

Not entirely true. It seems like it has functionality that checks that the game is valid and contains DLLs from official sources. Mod Organizer 2 also prevents launch for Skyrim VR if the SkyrimVR.cdx file exists in the folder at all.
Generally, it's a pain to mod Skyrim with a cracked copy

Thanks, I'm currently downloading a modlist for Skyrim SE again, so I'll use this instead of the other MO.
Actually, I found one more file validation function. I'm rebuilding it now, don't use that oneRocco_101 wrote: β September 20th, 2025, 21:04Thanks, I'm currently downloading a modlist for Skyrim SE again, so I'll use this instead of the other MO.

That's interesting about MO2 checking for a .cdx file, I had no idea, but then I don't have VR gear and I don't normally use MO2 anyway.
Should be easy enough to get around that check by simply not using the Codex crack. There are a handful of Steam emus to choose from these days.
As for the modpacks I've cracked, they all use MO2 and work just fine after properly cracking them. MO2 complains about Steam not running, but all you have to do to silence that is click the checkbox so it doesn't bother you again and choose the middle option to launch anyway, and it works fine, and not just on Bethesda games.

Fantastic work.
If you wanted to go one step further and step on the throats of nexus ********, you could do the idea I had ages ago, which was to take popular modlists, strip them down to the files they actually use (since nexus ******** and their permissions pedantry insist on making everyone download entire archives even if the modlist only uses one file from an archive of hundreds), and then upload those modlists complete in a ready to go installer or single archive.
You'd cut down most modlists by at least 100gb if not more, I reckon.

I haven't uploaded many Wabbajack modlists since Vault has a file size limit and I don't want to bankrupt @rusty_shackleford. If we could strip them down to their bare essential files then that'd be cool, but would it truly cut down modlists by 100gb?

UPDATE
- Synced to Wabbajack 4.0.4.1
- Update is "Hotfix for the game file sourcing now suddenly requiring other games to be installed on modlists that don't actually use file sourcing from other games"
- Allowed launching Wabbajack as Admin (thank you random PR guy)

I use the same username and avatar on cs.rin.ru. When you find one of my posts or my profile, check my signature. There's a link to my Mediafire where you will find the clean Steam files for Skyrim AE, as well as cracks, all CC mods, and a lot more. Some files are passworded with cs.rin.ru's standard forum pw to prevent Mediafire from flagging files.Rocco_101 wrote: β September 21st, 2025, 03:21Hi, if you could do that that would be great

I really think it would. AFAIK, wabbajack downloads the full archive of every mod even if you only use a small portion of a given mod. The unused files just sit there in full archives in your download folder, which you can delete after installation but then would have to re-download all those archives every time theres an update. This is of course, insane, but is how the nexus works and how the ******** insist on things being done. This view and set of rules also means that nobody can modify files directly, they have to "patch" over a copy while having the original downloaded as well for some absurd reason.loregamer wrote: β September 20th, 2025, 22:43We've sorta done this like with Viva New VegasCretin wrote: β September 20th, 2025, 21:38Fantastic work.

I think I see what you mean. If the modding community had a philosophy of just providing whole modpacks, then you could provide one large archive for the whole modlist, but for updates, you could do something like a v1.1 -> v1.2 Update, sort of like how game updates work, right?Cretin wrote: β September 21st, 2025, 07:36I really think it would. My only reservation is that I don't want to maintain and back up lists just for the sake of owning the ******. It's the actually decent modlists I want to make hyperavailable via an easy download. I'd happily do this if someone can vouch it's a good modlist worth preserving different versions, like Viva New Vegas
