Games that handle low stats
Games that handle low stats
The best known examples are games like Fallout and Arcanum that have you talk like a ****** if your intelligence is low, but are there any games that have unique dialog options/interactions if other stats are low? Maybe you get bullied for being a scrawny weakling if you have low strength or having really low charisma gives you particularly offensive options.
**** I'm positive I played something before that had a low Strength dialogue check where you couldn't avoid a confrontation/battle. I can't recall the game though.
LBL Season 1: 11-5 - 2026/27 Season 2: Incoming... LBL Board Game vs Little Bro: 4-3... - *** ( Legend Difficulty ) Practicing...... *** < Militum Christi > 25-0 FOR J. WOOOOO BABY.
ATOM lets you fail into quest resolutions, during dialogues. The future-man and lovers quest is a funny one, as well as looking like a pussy infront of the moonshiners.
ATOM RPG has at least one item that can only be worn with a low stat (glasses that require low perception and increase perception).
I believe it also has dialog options that require a low stat.

Having low charisma in Baldur's Gate 1 resulted in less money in quest rewards and the occasional rude remark.Tangerine wrote: β September 12th, 2025, 22:40The best known examples are games like Fallout and Arcanum that have you talk like a ****** if your intelligence is low, but are there any games that have unique dialog options/interactions if other stats are low? And some NPCs won't join you if you get a bad reaction roll.Tweed wrote: β September 12th, 2025, 23:38Having low charisma in Baldur's Gate 1 resulted in less money in quest rewards and the occasional rude remark.Tangerine wrote: β September 12th, 2025, 22:40The best known examples are games like Fallout and Arcanum that have you talk like a ****** if your intelligence is low, but are there any games that have unique dialog options/interactions if other stats are low? That's not quite what I'm talking about, since that's just failing a roll. I was thinking more along the lines of things that only happen to/are open to you because you have low stats.Acrux wrote: β September 12th, 2025, 23:57And some NPCs won't join you if you get a bad reaction roll.Tweed wrote: β September 12th, 2025, 23:38Having low charisma in Baldur's Gate 1 resulted in less money in quest rewards and the occasional rude remark.Tangerine wrote: β September 12th, 2025, 22:40The best known examples are games like Fallout and Arcanum that have you talk like a ****** if your intelligence is low, but are there any games that have unique dialog options/interactions if other stats are low? Fallout 76.
Yes, really. They had the B team completely redo the game after it failed, it was lead by a former Obsidian employee. I thought it was far better than any other Bethesda game I played other than Daggerfall.

Are we talking over 10 hrs under 20 hrs?wndrbr wrote: β September 13th, 2025, 01:28Space Wreck was heavily influenced by Fallout 1-2 and Arcanum. It's a very short, but highly non-linear rpg that tried to take into account both the high and the low attribute values.
