And get a kewl badge. For the first one, at least.
We can earn a KOTOR badge? Is that an ongoing this or was it limited time?
All of the badges are ongoing. No need to do them in the month they come up.

It's not required but it's cool and and fosters discussion.

Yeah I worded that poorly.

Replaying it now. What's your best party characters ranking? Here is mine:
  1. Jolee. Actually fun to listen to, got an interesting view on things, and is such an atypical Jedi that he was considered canon-breaking by hardcore SW fans at the time. Also, worth his salt in combat.
  2. HK-47. Unless I have good reasons to use both party slots for someone else, I try to take HK along for his random commentaries. Well written character, fun to listen to, good enough for combat after the upgrades.
  3. Bastila. It's kind of fun to annoy her as a male character, but kind of boring character overall. Her constant living in denial gets annoying fast ("My Jedi training puts me above feeling such emotions. Except when it concerns my mommy issues. Or you. Or the slightest provocation from anyone.")
  4. Canderous. Says some based stuff from time to time, but most of his dialogues and commentaries could just as well come from an edgy teen, instead of a supposedly ruthless veteran mercenary. Also inferior in combat to any Jedi if built for melee or to HK, if built for ranged.
  5. Carth. Likable guy, I like to keep him around even more than Canderous or Bastila, but he's not as good at combat as any of the above, or maybe I'm just not building him right. I've read that he's more interesting if playing with a female character, but I generally dislike playing as a female in an RPG, so haven't tried that.
  6. Mission. Fun to annoy, mostly. Well written character development story if you complete her quest. Meh in combat. Maybe she is better if you use her stealth, but I have no patience for that. Good utility character, though.
  7. Zaalbar. I find wookie audio tracks annoying in KOTOR, and Zaalbar being shut-in as he is gives me no reason to like him. I took him to Kashyyyk for the five minutes of content it gives, and it was fun to mistranslate him to the Czerka ****, but that's all I've used him for.
  8. Juhani. There is so much wasted effort with this one, since her whole backstory is boring and gives nothing to reflect about (right right humans bad, war bad). She even admits how boring she is. Not significantly better at combat than Bastila or Jolee, but not meant to be built as support either. So kind of a useless character.
  9. T3-M4. I forgot how absent his personality is in Kotor 1. Basically exists just to be swapped whenever you want to use his skill. But what's the fun with actually playing with ordinary droids like that? There is a reason why Star Wars media focuses on eccentric droids that deviate from the norm. I've ended up cheating his skills to myself just to save me the annoyance of swapping characters.

Carth hard carries the PC's *** early. Guy might be a ***** about "trust" but **** he was right on that front too as it turns out. He has impossible stats with more feats you could have as a Lv4 Soldier.

Ofc he drops off later because Jedi and melee superioty but the man gets you off Boringplanet quick.

Playing as female makes him worse imo. His flirting makes Twilight look decent. In fact, one could argue the female PC makes everything worse but thats just my *** opinion

Dialogue with her doesn't really work if you go full Sith.
Mission: My planet got blown up! Everyone I knew is dead!
Revan: Get over it.
Mission: I guess you're right.

Carth wasn't nearly as bad of a character as I'd heard, and he's generally the voice of reason. Not sure why he got hated on so much.

He doesn't like when you continually bother him about his personal history for no reason after he tells you it's none of your business. That earned him the reputation of being whiny.

I did not find any of the KotoR party members to be endearing or memorable. The snarky droid assassin was sometimes funny.

I thought that the part where you stumble upon an alien jedi apprentice who slew her master and was then hiding in a cave and you convince her to go back to the Jedi Order was neat, but I don't remember anything about her after that when she apparently became a permanent party member.

He's never recovering from HK-47 doing that Carth impression in KOTOR2.

I believe most people don't like being "ignored". Carth doesn't wanna talk about his traumatic past all that much and he is suspicious of almost everyone. In other words, hes being a real ***** about it.

This makes him unlikeable for some but for me personally? I get it. I wouldn't wanna be bothered by some dude all the time about my past. Carth is willing to cooperate with you that makes me respect his reasonable boundaries.

People think Carth is annoying because the game literally stops you in your tracks to tell you that he's pouting and clearly wants to talk. And when you do, he goes all "I don't wanna talk about it. Leave me alone."
"Oh, it all makes sense now, brother."
