Hello,
I'm considering buying Mafia: The Old Country, but I’d first like to hear from people who have already played it. Do you think it’s worth getting, and is it woke?
Thank you!
We have a Steam curator now. You should be following it. https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44994899-RPGHQ/
Is Mafia: The Old Country woke and should I buy/play it?

Purchased on release. No woke elements unless you consider Isabella’s sassy, rebellious attitude as such.
No *******, no *******, no feminist nonsense, no “communists good, fascists bad” rhetoric. Set before WW1, so politics are absent from the narrative.
Gameplay is somewhat easy, so opt for hard mode if you want a challenge, or stick with normal—your choice.
The atmosphere is phenomenal, with highly detailed, authentic environments. Sicilians have praised it, saying the locations mirror real life.
The music is excellent; I often stayed in the main menu to enjoy the theme.
It’s story-heavy, so the gameplay is a bit simplistic, but I enjoyed my 15 hours and plan to replay once they update Free Roam with new missions and activities.

Thank you! It’s hard to find good old games like this nowadays, and they need to be supported.Finarfin wrote: ↑ September 5th, 2025, 12:59Purchased on release. No woke elements unless you consider Isabella’s sassy, rebellious attitude as such.
