Raven's Cry is a 5/10 game. That said, I don't really go out of my way to play 5/10 games.

Here's how that breaks down.

Everything except for sword fighting: 6/10
Sword fighting: 0/10 (terribly unresponsive)
Water: 8/10 (better than the majority of today's titles, frankly)
Racism: 2/10 (calling a literal cannibal a savage is not racist, slavery existing in a historical time period is not racist, the player is never given an option to be racist, only racial slurs I can recall were about "white blue-eyed devils")
Sexism: 1/10 (if calling a prostitute a ***** is sexism then Gamespot needs a dictionary)

Put all my points in the raven. According to achievements tracker page, I used it once.

I shall use my nomination for next month to remedy that. In honor of last month's announcement that Darksiders 4 is in development, I nominate the original Darksiders from 2010, which also happens to be the best game in the series.

Turning off bloom helped reduce the frequency of crashes, but I still get one every couple of hours.

There are better pirate games out there, whether it's Black Flag or the (not really) Pirates of the Caribbean game.

Liked:
- Chris Raven acted in ways that were detrimental but in character. It's fun to play a character that acts on impulse rather than thinking things through.
- The OST is pretty good. Not great, but above average.
- Got to kill a bunch of filthy savages.
- Getting unpopular with a faction has you dock your ship further away from town. I thought that was a nice touch.

Disliked:
- It crashed. A lot. Turning off bloom as @J1M suggested helped, but didn't eliminate it.
- I found all the combat, both land and sea, to be tedious and with no redeeming value.
- Chapter 4's quests were pretty lazy in structure. They were mostly "Go to place, kill person/ship, return to Avery." It got old real fast.
- There seemed to be subplots that were just dropped. I don't know if it was because they went nowhere, or because the game was bugged. The example that comes to mind is after you drop Charlotte off, Chris gives her a warning about the weird bishop... and then nothing ever comes of it.
- The game gives you some moral dilemmas to resolve, but it also seems to go nowhere with them.

I assumed the Charlotte thing would be resolved in a side quest but I never sought it out. Was probably the most interesting story hook the game had.
