Surprised that guy wasn't just banned from the forum for saying that.

I still remember Captain Planet, which wouldn't look out of place in the 2020s.

I'm considering the whole "noble falls in love with a peasant" trope as subversive, too. In Romeo + Juliet, it's a story of two adversarial houses which makes it interesting, but get to the era of "Titanic" and suddenly it's "see? Poor people don't care about having things and so are more sympathetic and romantic". Not to mention how realistically people wouldn't destabilize their position doing **** like that.
Titanic was just a typical woman-fantasy, nothing more to it than that.sheet wrote: β August 8th, 2025, 13:33I'm considering the whole "noble falls in love with a peasant" trope as subversive, too. This doesn't make any sense to me. They want to capture the time period in an alt history manner, yet still crammed in modernist sentiments knowing full well, even fully agreeing, that it had no place in the setting? What was the point, then? The only reason to set something in these specific periods is for the culture and societal make up they had, otherwise you might as well just make it current day. If it was possible to hate game developers more, I would.Acrux wrote: β August 8th, 2025, 05:11There's a really long discussion on Steam about all of the problems with this game.

I know you're gay and have some weird yellow fever at the same time, but this is wishful thinking. Women in China would sell their mother/children rather than go to prison, much less give up writing gay ****.Roguey wrote: β August 9th, 2025, 00:58Women in China would rather go to prison than give up writing gay smut.Tangerine wrote: β August 9th, 2025, 00:33The first thing any God Emperor should do is ban the romance genre. It is a decent game for the Necromantic spin on Hamlet that it is. If you want to know why itβs pozzed, take a look at their website and you will see they got funding from the EU.Acrux wrote: β August 8th, 2025, 05:11There's a really long discussion on Steam about all of the problems with this game.Kriptini wrote: β August 8th, 2025, 03:47Aaaaand cue the random homosexual sidequest. Skyrim Belongs to the Nords.
Geek the Mage first.

Justice will prevail, you say? But of course it will! Whoever wins this war becomes justice!

The genre is not subversive, the culture is romantic for hundreds of years, it actually is the norm, not the exception.

That's for a) when these women were still worth such dedication, b) for those women that actually were worth such dedication, c) likely from a family of good standing so it's more than just some friction on the line.Lord of Riva wrote: β August 9th, 2025, 15:41Tangerine wrote: β August 9th, 2025, 00:33The first thing any God Emperor should do is ban the romance genre. These days good luck finding a women that would be worth it and meet the same standards as back then (do you still expect to marry at least a plausible virgin?), and today is more likely she'll take half your stuff rather than add her boomer parents wealth/standing/status to yours (although back then most of that went to literally any non-degenerate son first - as in the one not so horrible they had to send him to a monastery).
I like sugar, and I like tea.
It's literally the same, there is no woman that warrants this kind of simping. They should try getting your attention, not the other way around.mercerxiv wrote: β August 11th, 2025, 03:41That's for a) when these women were still worth such dedication, b) for those women that actually were worth such dedication, c) likely from a family of good standing so it's more than just some friction on the line.

Nah, it's not the same. Back then we at least bothered to pretend we have standards and it's immoral to ***** around. These days we call it college and being empowered.Lord of Riva wrote: β August 11th, 2025, 12:24It's literally the same, there is no woman that warrants this kind of simping. That's the worst part. These bastards get to murder wee babes, then keel over from normal causes at old age. Without fed posting, I'll just say that it'd be sooooo unfortunate if it were somehow sped up.Tenshi wrote: β August 19th, 2025, 10:0093 years old.CornCake wrote: β July 28th, 2025, 20:00

From my observation, most of the MMO scene, official or private, is like this. If there are any exceptions lemme know.
Interestingly though I looked at a leftist forum and they complain that mmo/online gaming communities tend to be right-leaning haha. Especially WoW. So that makes me feel better maybe about prospects

I remember abruptly reencountering someone that, when I had encountered him in the past, I would have pegged as kind of left-leaning, who had suddenly come back onto the scope due to having been deemed a Nazi. So, yeah, that's pretty much how Leftoids are these days. They have no diversity of thought or even ability to understand the thought processes of those they disagree with. That's why they think their political opponents do things for no reason other than to be evil, as if everyone they disagree with is just twirling their Snidely Whiplash mustaches and cackling as they tie people to railroad tracks for the lulz.Jordy wrote: β August 25th, 2025, 15:44Anyone who doesn't agree with exactly every single political opinion they have is considered far right.
I don't see Tainted Grail Fall of Avalon on the list but it definitely has some liberal writing and stronk women (at least from watching ~8hrs of a playthrough). Maybe someone who has played it can describe the extent.
