Thank you for making this mod, it's exactly what I've been looking for!

But unfortunately, installing both manually and with HD2MM, I haven't had any success. I'm having success with the super credit mod (https://github.com/Giovani1906/hd2-sc-arrow/tree/main) and I don't think I'm doing anything different
Tested a few minutes ago with the LoD set to 10.5 on patch 01.003.004

EDIT: After wiping out my data folder and redoing, I got SC and medals to work together but the uranium still doesn't seem to work. In fact it seems to turn them invisible:
Image
Load order was: SC, Medals, then Uranium

EDIT2: Cleaned and re-validated on Steam. With just the Uranium mod loaded and none others, they still seem to be invisible

EDIT3: I tried going through the tutorial steps to recreate it, but I couldn't find the super uranium IDs by myself, and I ended up just editing the patch here by adding more arrows to see if that worked... It did not and they were still invisible except for the puddle like shadow or whatever they produce (so no change), and also, whenever I tried to do the 'save meshes' step, the arrows gave a "Couldn't find HD2 properties" error
Image
I am not familiar with Blender at all, btw

EDIT4: I loaded in the base archive (9ba626afa44a3aa3) that includes the uranium, not the modded patch in this thread, and went through the steps here, but it had the same results (invisible) despite attaching arrows to everything I could find that is associated with the super uranium

Hello this is my first time using this site but what i think is the problem with the super samples is that they use a special displacement material because it moves alot in game and when patching it it somehow doesnt get applied anymore so you only get the shadows

Played with these mods. The game worked, but the mods did not work quite correctly. Only green samples were highlighted. Rare and super rare ones were not highlighted at all. After PATCH 01.003.200 the game stopped launching with these mods. A couple of other mods do not break the game. With the mod an error appears. "Fatal Error! Unexpected error while loading game files. Check for any data that may have been modified or corrupted from the initial install. (Error code: 0x44415441)"

And I would also like a mod that highlights only all samples. Thanks

Will update, but here:

How To Make This Mod

  1. Open Blender
  2. Click N, then select Modding
    Image
  3. If you haven't already, set your game folder in settings
    Image
  4. Select the ★ icon (this loads the base archives)
    Image
  5. Click the Folder icon to load an archive
    Image
  6. Input the Archive ID for the thing you're adding a gigantic arrow to
    Image
    • 6286516637d5c967 RARE DROPS (includes supercredits)
    • 501b113721d6faf0 Sample - Bug - Dedicated
    • f6b59d283df68ad0 Samples - Bot special, Research case
    • bc35eebd1ddb6858 Sample - Rare Crystal - Dedicated
    • b4bc0833706d87e0 Sample - LEGENDARIUM
    • 324e128327ac29ab Samples - Crystal v2
    • fb0ebe9bdee158d6 Samples - Uranium
    • 8d05fccea5bbbc54 Samples - Black Saffron - Dedicated
  7. In Settings, enable Import LODs and Import Static Meshes
    Image
    • Very important to do the LODs so the arrows show from far away!
  8. Load all the meshes, like so:
    Image
  9. Make your changes
    • Blender Addon I made to create them: 📥 create_ref_arrows.zip
      • Drag and drop that file into %APPDATA%\Blender Foundation\Blender\4.0\scripts\addons
    • I'm too lazy to figure out Material editing and making it glow. Whoever is smart enough to figure it out, please do it for us
    Image
  10. Create a patch and save the meshes, like so:
    Image
  11. Export Patch and share the ZIP file. :cowboy:

If someone could figure out texture and material editing (I'm too lazy to do so), please do consider making a version that includes samples that are color coded!

@leoleahy I just realized the mod can be updated pretty easily like this:
loregamer wrote: May 18th, 2025, 03:14
Updating Outdated Model Mods

Prerequisites
Blender 4.0 and the Helldivers 2 addon, HD2SDK-CommunityEdition

Steps
  1. Extract the outdated mod files anywhere
    • It will have three files typically, like this
      Image
  2. Open Blender
    • Make sure you have downloaded Blender version 4.0 and the HD2SDK-CommunityEdition addon
  3. Click N, then select Modding
    Image
  4. If you haven't already, set your game folder in settings
    Image
  5. Select the ★ icon (this loads the base archives)
    Image
  6. If the mod replaces a specific armor, select Search Found Archives, search for it, click the +, then OK
    Image
  7. Click the Browse icon next to Patch
    Image
  8. Select the extracted mod's .patch file
  9. Shift select all the meshes that have a shield icon, right click, and select Import Meshes
    Image
  10. Click all the checked shield icons, like this:
    Image
  11. In the top left of Blender, click Select > All
    Image
  12. Click the arrow under the mesh section, right click, and select Save Meshes
    Image
  13. Switch archives, and repeat (Select > Click the arrow under the mesh section, right click, and select Save Meshes)
    Image
  14. Click Write Patch
  15. Click Export Patch
  16. Save the zip file wherever you want

NOTE: I may be missing a step since I can't seem to fix this for the NCR Ranger mod. Will update the post when I figure it out

Updated the mods. I made sure the arrows show up ingame, but I haven't fixed any issues/bugs. Just updated for the latest patch via the method above

I also removed the uranium one for now
