I literally know nothing about these characters as the game will not run on my potato, but if you lined them up, I could immediately predict which one was going to be the most popular.

Finally finished the game, 213h 36m on my save file, not counting all the reloads

Played as a paladin, oath of the ancients,

freed Orpheus, killed the Emperor, resisted the temptation of illithid powers but ultimately had to sacrifice myself and become a mind flayer, destroyed the Netherbrain and killed myself. I'm very disappointed in the epilogue though. I didn't even see what happened to my companions, I told Lae'zel to leave with Orpheus, I saw Karlach's spontaneous combustion but every other companions had not a single ******* line, wtf. I know I killed myself but at least give me some text about what they became like Dragon Age Origins. Or they could have put the choice of living as an illithid or not AFTER we saw the epilogue of other companions. Act 3 in general felt botched compared to Act 1 but I expected a proper ending at least.

Laezel initially was very girl boss to the point it was obnoxious, though I found it compelling how she became more feminine/opened up more as the romance progressed + also being a woman in a fighter class is just stupid.
Just in general I have my problems with the gith, mostly because it's monarchy that's also... Militaristic? A militaristic patriarchal society would just make more sense personally.

Though just out of the gate shadow heart is obviously the best, being in a role that actually makes sense for a woman (cleric) and is like, the only normal person in the party without any weird **** going on (aside from the cult stuff)

Karlach's only redeeming quality is her face. Sure she has strong features but it's still a feminine face, the previous iterations were much uglier. She has a hideous male body though. And her character is awful, a big reddit chungus. I changed her using the Appearence Edit Enhanced mod and I thought I wouldn't mind her personality once she's cute but no, it's just ridiculous to have this backstory with this personality.

I don't mind githyankis being girl bosses and fighters as much as other races because they're psionic space frogs who've been waging a crusade for their entire history. I can accept that their males and females are biologically closer. And also if you listen to her dialogues about the silver sword, she says it uses the psionic powers of its user to basically strike by itself, and if you look at how she holds the sword, she doesn't physically hold it, she uses telekinesis. My Lae'zel build was Wild Magic Barbarian + pact of the blade GOO Warlock so I could dump strength and still use the silver greatsword and it felt right. And Lae'zel was a cute tsundere.

And Shadowheart was perfect yeah, cute face, cute voice, edgy but it's a trauma hiding a loving personality and you can literally fix her. Some people speak of **** **** but I only saw the opposite. Like when I approached the drow whores in the brothel with Shadowheart in my party she said she'd rather have our first night together with just us two. Also she made the ending a lot more impactful because my character was an oath of the ancients paladin and I had planned for him to stop adventuring and live with his Shadowife and her parents in her cottage near nature and surrounded by animals, so the sacrifice to save the world felt like a real sacrifice and not just "That's a wrap! End of the movie, the characters had no future anyway, doesn't matter what happens".
