I'm pretty sure "dubs" is just when the anonymous poster number rolls two of the same number at the end, like 0012344 or something would be "dubs", it's included in that "roll for X" rule because that's the same **** like rolling for a specific number on your post/comment. Just spammy nonsense.

The timeline adds up. Moot killed /n/ in February 2008, then changed /new/ from a textboard to an imageboard in 2010 to contain the drastic changes in site-wide culture (later reborn as /pol/).

Makes sense, Moot "retired" as an admin in Jan 2015 just to sell the site in September. I suppose cleaning up the site for a potential buyer was in order.
