The bots are almost certainly a botnet using residential IPs across the globe which makes it very difficult to stop without negatively harming the experience of regular users.
Please understand if your experience has been negatively impacted.

The bot traffic has been rapidly increasing so it was time to do something.

And yes, we could have just absorbed the traffic without any real performance hit… but I just didn't feel comfortable willingly giving away our data for some guy running a botnet to sell to AI companies.

I might consider just making most of the forum require registration to view in the future to not negatively impact members
