Further goes to show game devs are scum
Pretty much anyone who has a career based on games is a piece of **** who deserves jail time
I wouldn't go that far. There are a lot of people like that in industry, but far from all. On top of that a lot of the decisions like that are made in the corporate side of the business, so pick an issue with the corpos.
Now, gay **** - that's some activists masquerading as developers.

Also funny thing I've noticed - an uptick in HR women/dev women with pronouns on linkedin complaining about being laid off.
I like sugar, and I like tea.

Thor and many game developers, especially software engineers, have every reason to lie and ******** how difficult the demands of the initiative is to ensure job security. Louis Rossman just recently uploaded a video interviewing a software dev about the movement from their perspective and the guy couldn't even explain accurately how World of Warcraft ran. He said "probably multiple servers for each instanced dungeon and raid, pvp battleground, etc." I hate to say it since I generally agree with Louis on his pro-consumerism stance, but this software dev is a ******* ******. WoW ran on a single server with SQL backend, it wasn't that complex or difficult to get running years ago.
That's probably how the private server version runs because it doesn't have to handle kajillions of simultaneous players, but I'd imagine you'd have to split it up a bit more at the scale the real deal operates at. Still, I imagine World of Warcrap needs it far less than other MMOs because it was written in an era before programmers became increasingly ****. I know for a fact that other MMOs *DO* operate like this.

AFAIK, each battlegroup was in a separate datacenter, battlegrounds/arenas were ran on a separate server in the datacenter for the entire battlegroup.
This is for when there was PvP queueing for the entire battlegroup.

My guess for this is because I experienced my home server going down while I continued to play arena a couple times.

Nepotism has always been around, but back in the day you're either expected to have some degree of talent or just not be highly visible.

Now all these nepobabies are highly visible.

He kept making statements to the effect that Stop Killing Games is stupid and bad and that Ross is stupid and disingenuous. Whether his becoming 'the villain' ultimately benefited the campaign or not, there is evidence that petition signatures slowed for a while after his initial statements, and Ross stated that it also scared one of the big YouTubers off from endorsing Stop Killing Games.

Former Blizzard dev turned youtuber whose main claim to fame was telling us that the first WoW cash shop mount made more money than Starcraft 2.

Then I think there was something about him playing WoW classic hardcore, and not following some sort of apparent etiquette there where if too many mobs are pulled you are not supposed to just abandon everyone and flee, but to instead try to help CC or delay the adds for the sake of the whole group.

I doubt he has ever worked once in his life. All he did was asking daddy to give him a job, wake up in the morning, put his big *** in a chair and pretend to be an adult

I haven't been following his drama but from the clips I saw of him before all of this I believe he was good at his cybersecurity job.

People dislike him because he is against SKG.

I disliked him the first time I saw him because of his looks with his ****** face and yeeyee *** hairstyle. (Plus the fact he uses a voice changer to not sound like a complete ***)

We are not the same.

This whole movement is dumb because Ross thinks every game needs to be saved and playable, no matter how bad it is.

On the bright side BioWare is shutting down Anthem’s servers next January, good riddance.

Only games that people want to be saved will be by the community though, that bad games will be forgotten is implicit by the publisher not having the duty to continue supporting but solely making it possible for the community to do so.

I always wondered why:

- Warden was such a piece of **** and created so much latency that it was disabled after a few months and thrown away
- Why bots were able to run rampant without any attempt to stop them
- Why the gold economy was completely destroyed through gold farming / account hacking
- Why there was so many exploits allowing players to teleport / speedhack / one shot bosses and blizzards ONLY intervention was GM's manually watching raids, responding to player reported activity or banning people off GM-island when people were stupid enough to go there

It's because their "red team" was a buncha script kiddy QA nepo-hires. Huh. :wizard:

How bad is it that gamers have to rely on the degenerate EU wasteland to get changes to the game industry because United States lawmakers are so ****** by corporate donors?
