If they greenlit this willingly over EVERYTHING else, than this company deserves to go belly up.
it was funded by the british governmentKnightoftheWind wrote: ↑ September 14th, 2023, 21:25I assume this was produced entirely with ESG financing, because surely SEGA didn't put down their own money to make this shlock. Not only is it atrociously ugly, but it's years late to the party. The Battle Royale boat has sailed, and only Fortnite and maybe Apex Legends are on it.
If they greenlit this willingly over EVERYTHING else, than this company deserves to go belly up.

Honestly the peak of 2k players is the most shocking part.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?
I would think to garner interest in that, the characters in question have to actually be attractive.Vergil wrote: ↑ September 11th, 2023, 21:36Wonder if they'll create a porn subreddit to try and garner interest like Randy Pitchford did

Must have been the devs and their moms.Vergil wrote: ↑ September 15th, 2023, 21:16Honestly the peak of 2k players is the most shocking part.
Blizzard used to understand this - never played Overwatch, but I've seen the initial female characters they created (when they were actually trying to make attractive females) plastered everywhere. I haven't seen art or discussions of the new characters (the ****** and *******) anywhere.Norfleet wrote: ↑ September 16th, 2023, 00:20I would think to garner interest in that, the characters in question have to actually be attractive.
What's truly vile is that the West, like a massive cultural Chernobyl spewing radioactive ***** fumes into the noosphere, is now impacting other countries. I've read quite a few articles mentioning how Japanese developers now need to take into account "Western" cultural sensibilities when designing female characts so as not to offend the oven-dodging leftist vermin.
The Hyenas characters don't look lazy or uninspired, they look positively repulsive, like CA went out of their way to make them as ugly and unappealing as possible, and that's a preview of the future that awaits us if something major doesn't happen.

Slight correction; developed with it's overwhelmingly male audience's fan service in mind.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ September 16th, 2023, 11:01Overwatch is probably the last western game that was developed with fanservice in mind.
We still get fan service in games but it's either for gays in the form of modern Overwatch or it's emotional/moral fanservice for 25-40 year old women like God of War: Ragnarök or The Last of Us 2.

Sega has cancelled Hyenas ‘and some unannounced games in development’
THE MOVE WAS MADE “IN RESPONSE TO THE LOWER PROFITABILITY OF THE EUROPEAN REGION”
Sega Sammy has said it plans to cancel Creative Assembly‘s Hyenas and other unannounced projects.
The move was announced on Thursday following a review of its games business.
“In response to the lower profitability of the European region, we have reviewed the title portfolio of each development base in Europe and the resulting action will be to cancel ‘Hyenas’ and some unannounced titles under development,” it said.
“Accordingly, we will implement a write-down of work-in-progress for titles under development.”
Sega also plans to reduce its fixed expenses in Europe, with a focus on cutting costs at Horsham, England-based Creative Assembly.
“We will implement reduction of various fixed expenses at several group companies in relevant region, centered on the Creative Assembly Ltd,” it said. “We expect to incur one-time expenses related to reduction of fixed expenses.”
It's even worse than that in this case - not only did this piece of **** fail spectacularly (like pretty much everyone was expecting), but CA apparently devoted so many resources to it that their flagship title and primary source of income was left to rot.BlueMemphis wrote: ↑ September 28th, 2023, 11:29Bravo, just bravo. Outfailing Lawbreakers is an accomplishment that deserves to be respected.
As it is currently, Warhammer 3 suffers from bugs, oftentimes gamebreaking, that have been in the game since launch (which was February 2022). Each new DLC introduced even more bugs that have also remained unfixed. The only time CA releases patches for the game, regardless of the severity of the bugs, is when a new DLC launches, following it up with a few minor hotfixes (that usually don't fix anything, not even what they say they've fixed in the changelog) and then don't bother with the game until the next DLC.
Apparently they have only a single person appointed to patch and fix the game full time, and a skeleton crew working on the DLCs. Nobody is quite sure what the rest of the hundreds of employees they have on the payroll are doing, but they're certainly not working on Warhammer 3 or the DLCs.
And yes, I'm aware that this was apparently financed, at least partially, by the UK government, but the quantity of resources CA poured into Hyenas makes me think that this was an actual project someone was pushing hard internally.
This is magnificent, thank you.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?
Did someone with authority (that actually plays games) find out about the shitshow they were on the verge of releasing and kill the thing dead?
Of course, AFTER they got the funding and tax write-offs...
Reject your retarded-wing political programming and learn to think.
If you can.

New alleged details on the development of Sega and Creative Assembly’s cancelled live service shooter Hyenas have been published, including claims that it was Sega’s biggest budget game ever before the company pulled the plug. The Japanese publisher announced last week that it was cancelling the multiplayer shooter “and some unannounced titles under development” in Europe, following at least six years of development on the project.
Developer Creative Assembly has suggested the game was cancelled due to “ambitious” plans and high competition in the multiplayer shooter space. However, a new video published by Total War YouTuber Volound – corroborated by VGC’s own sources – features claims from anonymous developers that a lack of direction, disruptive engine change, and overly-cautious design contributed to its downfall.
One anonymous developer wrote: “So what went wrong? Total lack of direction, many of the leadership asleep at the wheel but they never seem to lose their jobs. An engine change, part way through the process. Attempting to break into a saturated market, and not committing to do anything adventurous with the game.”
Hyenas is believed to have been one of the ‘Super Games’ Sega often referred to in its financial results: ambitious, big-budget titles it hoped would pay off with big sales in the future. Sega claimed in November 2021 that it would consider investing up to ¥100.0 billion ($882 million) over five years to achieve its ‘Super Game’ ambitions, which would cover the development of multiple projects. Although it’s not public knowledge how much Sega invested in Hyenas, former developers told VGC they believe it was the company’s biggest budget ever for a game, beating 1999’s Shenmue which was once claimed to have cost around $70 million.
“I forgot to mention that Hyenas was Sega’s biggest budget game ever,” an anonymous developer also told Volound. “Towards the end, there were people from Sega Japan more or less permanently at the UK office, this has NEVER happened the whole time l’ve worked at CA, they occasionally came to visit and check how a game was looking but as I said previously, generally hands-off.”

Exactly, saying it aloud would be - according to them - "legitimizing the chuds" who happen to be +90% of gamers worldwide.maidenhaver wrote: ↑ October 6th, 2023, 01:11They do, they just won't say it.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ October 5th, 2023, 07:14amazing that they still don't get itOne anonymous developer wrote: “So what went wrong? They would rather go bankrupt then selling a game that an audience would want.UltraFan123 wrote: ↑ October 7th, 2024, 20:44Exactly, saying it aloud would be - according to them - "legitimizing the chuds" who happen to be +90% of gamers worldwide.
Peak clown world
Not getting my hopes up - CA had to eat a lot, a LOT, of humble pie and come crawling back to the costumers, tailed tucked between their legs, but they have learned nothing from the Warhammer 3 and HYENAS debacles, and the same people responsible for both are still in charge of the company.
Also, Alien: Isolation was a genuine project of passion spearheaded by a small collective within the company that had a genuine vision, and IIRC most of those people are not working at CA anymore.
They may, possibly, temper their faggotry, considering the current climate, but I wouldn't bet on it, the liberal is not a learning animal. Even with an existing blueprint on how to make the game, they'll still work extra hard to find ways to **** it up, because they are that stupid and incompetent.
