Dustwind: Resistance β€” RTwP Fallout/Fallout Tactics inspired tacticool RPG

Post by rusty_shackleford »

Sequel to Dustwind, but only singleplayer and seemingly(I think) more RPG than the previous title which was more like Fallout Tactics

I don't know what part of the world you're from, but that level of swarthiness is absolutely not white.
He's as white as they come in the promo art(looks like a typical White Anglo with blue eyes/black hair), which I generally take as the intended depiction when the ingame models are of lower fidelity. :)

I don't know chief... he has black facial features.

Rather broad nose.

Looks like his gang is 2 other women...

Anyways, looks pretty good to me, I'll be giving it a go most likely. I was never a fan of Fallout Tactics so this will be interesting.

Before anyone says it, the main character is lily White with an interesting hair choice.

(I grabbed this from their press pack)
You mean the guy in the hat and the rocket launcher, right?

Surely, that's what you meant since he is white. The other is more of a tawny complexion.

The in-game screenshot you posted looks cool so, hopefully it is a good game. But, it also shows that the guy with the hat is called "Diego" so... who knows, really.

I really like Falout Tactics, but the realtime mode is only good for certain situations where you can set up ambushes.

I hope this one has a good single player campaign. The first one was designed for multiplayer and they added a bare-bones campaign after people kept asking for one. It looks like they added a new campaign last month, too.

I've had enough turn-based games lately, time for RTwP :dice:

I mean, I like the concept. Fallout Tactics was really good, imo.

I just have such fatigue - and with everything in games being a choice - why choose *******?

Political ideology. That's all.

I'll keep an eye on it, eitherway.

Yeah, I really liked the concept too and felt more could have been done with it if the game had leaned more into being post-apoc XCOM.

Have a BoS bunker and send out expeditions to ruins across the Wasteland to search for pre-war technology. Conquer or liberate settlements to secure recruits and supplies. Find vaults to gain access to more technologically savvy personnel to be engineers and scientists. Build up your fleet of vehicles, getting access to APCs, tanks, vertibirds. Expand your bunker with new facilities etc.

Then you could attack raider camps, help or fight against the NCR/Legion/Enclave/other factions, protect your settlements etc.

RTwP is like Indian cuisine; many of them are outright gross, while some are tolerable, enjoyable even (Marauder: Man of Prey comes to my mind, although that game is janky as f). But even then, none of them will never be as good as the real thing (turn based, you know, it's called BASED for a reason :smug: )

How are these two games related? This one has pretty bad grades.

Also, sorry to break it to you Rusto, but:
