SAG commies say you don't own your voice

Post by rusty_shackleford »

James Earl Jones licensed his voice to be used for AI. His family gave Epic the go-ahead to use his voice for AI. Epic games used his voice for AI Darth Vader with assistance from Gisnep.

Uh, excuse me, did you forget to ask the guy who voiced Darth Vader poorly in Battlefront 2 if you're allowed to do something that would be impossible to do with pre-recorded lines that barely sound like dork vader???? Yea I thought so.

I was following the Genshin English VA strike kerfuffle. The fundamental issue here is that English is the most spoken language in the world. Anyone from anywhere can do English voice work. That's why Mihoyo had no issue replacing American strikers with people who can speak English in Japan. There is just no way to lock down the market. There is also not a strong celebrity English VA culture like with Japan's dubbing industry where the VAs there have real star power and can greatly boost the popularity of a product, so a company is not losing much on the marketing front if they use AI generated voicelines. The strike feels more like a publicity disaster.

I thought Genshit wasn't even real Japslop, but actually imitation Chinkslop designed to insert Chinese state malware onto your computer so they can take it over when the Great Cyberwar starts.

That's classic woke libtard mentality. Remember the "learn to code?" when blue collar folks were suffering? And society heavily depends on them. Now, suddenly it turns out the VAs are finding out they can be easily replaced and are throwing a hissy fit.

It doesn't matter English is the most popular language. Replacing James Earl Jones is hard. Replacing Brian Blessed is hard. If they actually had any real talent, then replacing them would be hard. The thing is, they don't do anything impressive and that's why replacing them is easy. It's the same thing with AI pictures. Any artist that is truly scared of being replaced with AI art is trash. The cream always rises to the top. AI has become the real equalizer. I hope they all have to return to waiting tables in ****** dinners and can't find VA work ever again.

**** English VAs.

**** all of them. I hope they all get replaced by AI and end up in the streets, sucking ****** cocks for cheeseburgers.

Below is your average, dysgenic voice acting "professional" - look at this disgusting mongoloid sack of lard - these oven dodgers all need to be gassed:
