Games you hated after loving the first playthrough?

Post by TheCumGuzzler »

Have you ever played a game, loved it, then replayed it a few years later and found out it's utter ****?
To me that's Fallout 3 (My first RPG) and while I will forever appreciate that game for introducing me to better games, I tried finishing it multiple times but it's just too boring.
Also Bioshock: Infinite, it was my first Bioshock game and I thought it was cool but after playing the first game I was unable to enjoy it again.

Anyone else felt this with any other game?

The entire mass effect series. After finding out the writers thought the human race would devolve into dark haired brown mulatto's and that all traits of aryans vanished into the annals of history made me realise this game wasn't designed for me. That, and its utter fear of allowing you to go pro-humanity. I wouldn't say it's terrible, but I can't play it anymore.

My list for this is rather long. The woes of becoming extremist as you age.

I wouldn't say I loved it, but I liked Chrono Cross well enough the first time through. Going through it a second time was awful because I caught all the **** that doesn't make sense if you actually think about it.

I also noticed the character artist couldn't draw shoes/feet and hands were only marginally better. Amateur levels of bad.

I watched Krogan's vid, which was useful, since I don't read video game books and lacked that extra context for how insane the writers actually were. I still didn't like the series regardless, but often those little details really get you thinking how much sinister **** is put into games stories.

Half Life Blue Shift.
For some reason I enjoyed it more than Opposing Force or the original.
Now I don't even look at it. It's worse than Decay imo.

Never quite thought about how butthurt libs are going to be when gene edited children are widespread and the world is plurality white due to indians all making their children look like albinos.

Xenus (also known as Boiling Point: Road to Hell), Chaser, Bet on Soldier, You Are Empty, etc. There is a pattern here. I was a huge fan of FPS genre but at some point lost interest. Maybe I just grew up.

when gene edited children are widespread, libs won't exist because China will grow super-soldiers in a vat while everyone else is arguing about women's autonomy

Yeah. I still hold fond memories of them. But actually replaying most of them is painful. There are exceptions though. For example, Painkiller is still **** good.

I really didn't need the image of skinwalker ***** spreading across the globe like a tidal wave of bleached ****.

Thank you rusty.

Concerning the topic of the thread, any game that features a lengthy, unskippable prologue or tutorial section really kills any motivation I have for replaying the game.

I really wish devs would stop with this ******** and go back to how older games handled it - just drop me straight into the game and let me play.
