Can't promise when as I am not experienced with Blender and thus dependant on available heads from elsewhere. As the fangs have to be integrated into the head armature.
There is an interesting head for Elves from Maki's collection but I have to check if it includes fangs or not. Alternatively, there is a version of Vemperen's Heads with them.

As for Voice Conversions, there is no dependency. They are stand-alone.
Localization and Visual Changes can safely be used with other VCs.

Yes, that one.
It is better to use Origin Mirror Unlocked instead of Appearance Edit Enhanced, especially with how the former works. To make them compatible with each other, the Origin.lsx files and Localizations of OMU and Better Companions have to be tinkered with. I can go more in-depth tomorrow.
So that fanged head mod was a non-starter because it's a ****** replacer - not a replacer for Vemperen's heads, a replacer for vanilla heads. No bueno.

I also tried this other mod which seemed promising, but it's bugged now (the added fangs appear to float on top of the character's head), and judging from the reports it was a half-assed solution even earlier - it would overlap with the head's real teeth and look weird in some scenes.

I'll put up with "Astaria" lacking vampire teeth for now. If you want to work around it, the nexus Astaria mod has open permissions (not that we should care either way), so you should be able to just steal its vampire-elf head for your mod.

I say wilhelmina is the best looking one.
astaria hair is a bit too grand to adventure with. I can imagine she prepare her hair for one hour in camp just to end up messed up again after battle, then it took her another hour to prepare before another battle

Yeah, I think Astarion should have been a Bard and respec'd accordingly (I do in my games). He was a noble in life, and he spent his unlife charming and seducing people, not picking pockets or cutting throats, much less dungeon delving.

I saw some early character concept art where he looked much more violent and savage. Pretty sure they designed the first four companions as "we need to have a fighter, cleric, rogue and wizard". But the full release version? Total Bard.

WotC messed up by renaming thief to rogue, AD&D had a much better classification(I can't recall if it was in 1E, but definitely in 2E) where thief and bard were both rogue archetypes, along with assassin.

Bard-as-rogue-subclass, sure - but nah, he's no swashbuckler. He's got the charm and foppish attitude, but acrobatics, swordsmanship, and burglary? Unless I missed something, before the events of BG3 he had never fought a duel or broken into a palace; he would seduce people and lure them to Cazador's palace alive, not kidnap or stab them (or even bite them, for that matter). 100% pure Charisma-based character.

I love the Minthara voice, but I'm noticing in some lines of dialogue there's a warble or it sounds like my speaker is giving out for a brief instant (I'm running through her dialogue after recruiting her right now).

Found some issues with Minthara.

After killing Orin, every single line of dialogue from Minthara is done in the original Emma Gregory voice lines. Clicking on her uses the new voice, but it seems every interaction after that - killing Cazador etc has her using the original voice.

This made the game playable for me so thank you. Is there anyway to change the Karl's animation so he isn't doing female mannerisms or standing like a female.

Also is there a narrator replacement that acknowledges the gender swap?

Since you haven't gotten an answer, to the best of my knowledge "no" and "no".

There is an off-site mod that changes Karlach's model to the normal female and her class to sorcerer, which could be an alternative to the Karl mod that naturally alleviates those two issues. But that introduces the issue of Karlach's barbarian mannerisms being out of place instead (such as the sorcerer ideling to shadowboxing).

thanks for the heads up, yea i figured it was too much to ask, i ended up just making Karlach into a dwarf and it seem to fix the feminine movement and also fits better with my party composition. Thanks again.

Gaile mod is so awesome! Love her voice! But for some reason spellcasting sounds didnt change. Are they part of point and Click mod? i've installed it but still no effect. May be it needs and update to support latest patches?

Good stuff, im just wondering how it compare with the one on Nexus... I'm only interested by Astaria voice lines.

But I want to know if the combat voices are adressed or if Astaria will suddenly sound like a man and break immersion.
The mod on nexus https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/16626 advice to use something to mute these line totaly since he didn't addressed them.

Introduction and General Information

An overhaul of the present companions with surprises coming in the future. This project is planned to change the backstories of the characters to varying degrees. A few examples: Astaria AncunΓ­n being the Sister of Astarion, Gaile not being a lover of Mystra and Jaheira being an Elf. It is all a Work-in-Progress and open for changes.   • Bloodstone Eyes in the Character Creation Menu: It should be overwritten by the ORIGIN_Wyll settings. Similar to the previous issue of red eyes. Will look into it soon.
  • Similar issues occur for the other origins in the Character Creation Menu.
  • Character Creation Menu Origin Character Camera Cut-Off: There are camera settings for each origin. Haven't found a solution yet, but a few ideas have come up.
  • Infernal Robe Replacement (Wilhelmine): There is an issue with the Infernal Robe. While it is worn on a female character outside of the cut-scene, it is worn like female armor. Inside the cut-scene, the game sees it as a
  • male-armor and it leads to some visual issues.
  • Hair Highlights: Tav's Hair Salon doesn't allow for it, but it is available with the Base Game Hairstyles. Haven't tested it for Umberlee's or Vesnelle's Hair mods yet.

Is it compatible with other mods which changes the visuals ?
Depends. The Visual Overhauls of this project are gender, texture and head changes at the current state. There is compatibility with mods who change the body of the races. This applies to equipment. Humans, Elves, Drows, Half-Elves, they share the same body armature.

Why do the companions still sound like the original characters sometimes ?
It is difficult to extract the missing sound files from SharedSoundBanks.pak with their .bnk file format. These are, as indicated, sound banks bundled together.
All other voice tracks of the companions, with their SpeakerUUID_DialogHandle file names, are part of the currently available Voice Conversions here. Same with the Point & Click Sounds.

When is the next update of the Voice Conversions coming ?
In due time. It takes more time to get this done. Worst case the companions have to be muted for a more immersive experience, for the time being.

Help! Why is the new speaker name not shown ?
It only checks for the Speaker Name when encountering a NPC for the first time. For example, in case of Le'zil, it requires a new playthrough, as he appears in the Nautiloid at the start. Otherwise, it uses the default.

Why are there lines where the wrong pronouns are still in ?
The game is filled with so much content that a few details can easily be missed. If you find any lines requiring changes, be sure to post them here. Will update the Localization when missing lines appear during my playthroughs as well.

Status Report: 07/01/2025:
Fell ill again, so things have been delayed.
Preparations are being made for the VC stuff to change all the pronouns and what not.
Will go over the latest posts in the next days and see what has to be fixed.
There's also Even Better Romance which requires my attention so expect things to move slowly. Sorry about that.

Sorry for the slow work. An illness delayed things.
  • [Visuals] Wilhelmine still requires an update as the game doesn't recognize her head armature.
  • [Localization] Something messed it up and a few new translations disappeared. Working on a fix.
  • [Voice Conversion] A bug with the Origins using a different speaker. Looking into it.



Introduction and General Information

An overhaul of the present companions with surprises coming in the future. This project is planned to change the backstories of the characters to varying degrees. A few examples: Astaria AncunΓ­n being the Sister of Astarion, Gaile not being a lover of Mystra and Jaheira being an Elf. It is all a Work-in-Progress and open for changes. The currently available content of the project can be downloaded below.

In-Game
  • Bloodstone Eyes in the Character Creation Menu: It should be overwritten by the ORIGIN_Wyll settings. Similar to the previous issue of red eyes. Will look into it soon.
  • Similar issues occur for the other origins in the Character Creation Menu.
  • Character Creation Menu Origin Character Camera Cut-Off: There are camera settings for each origin. Haven't found a solution yet, but a few ideas have come up.
  • Infernal Robe Replacement (Wilhelmine): There is an issue with the Infernal Robe. While it is worn on a female character outside of the cut-scene, it is worn like female armor. Inside the cut-scene, the game sees it as a
  • male-armor and it leads to some visual issues.
  • Hair Highlights: Tav's Hair Salon doesn't allow for it, but it is available with the Base Game Hairstyles. Haven't tested it for Umberlee's or Vesnelle's Hair mods yet.

Is it compatible with other mods which changes the visuals ?
Depends. The Visual Overhauls of this project are gender, texture and head changes at the current state. There is compatibility with mods who change the body of the races. This applies to equipment. Humans, Elves, Drows, Half-Elves, they share the same body armature.

Why do the companions still sound like the original characters sometimes ?
It is difficult to extract the missing sound files from SharedSoundBanks.pak with their .bnk file format. These are, as indicated, sound banks bundled together.
All other voice tracks of the companions, with their SpeakerUUID_DialogHandle file names, are part of the currently available Voice Conversions here. Same with the Point & Click Sounds.

When is the next update of the Voice Conversions coming ?
In due time. It takes more time to get this done. Worst case the companions have to be muted for a more immersive experience, for the time being.

Help! Why is the new speaker name not shown ?
It only checks for the Speaker Name when encountering a NPC for the first time. For example, in case of Le'zil, it requires a new playthrough, as he appears in the Nautiloid at the start. Otherwise, it uses the default.

Why are there lines where the wrong pronouns are still in ?
The game is filled with so much content that a few details can easily be missed. If you find any lines requiring changes, be sure to post them here. Will update the Localization when missing lines appear during my playthroughs as well.

Seems you have updated Wilhelmine, i assume her hair, eyes and horns have no issue anymore? My Wyll of Neverwinter has pixaleted blue eye and polygonized horns which is bothering me so i will try yours. Already use other ones and they are great except combat/spell sounds so i mute them like suggested. Sex animations are also comically broken though i guess it is near impossible to fix them.

What are your plans for Halsin btw? Making him a proper "lanky" wood elf with ageless look like Elrond would be good. His voice should also be changed to reflect more wisdom. I hate that bulky old ugly freak and his voice.

Animations come in .GR2 files. Pretty sure that can be modified in Blender as well and then replace or overwrite the originals. Haven't looked into it yet but can see what can be done with my very limited ability, in the upcoming weeks.
There aren't any clear plans for Halsin at the moment, though your perspective will be taken into consideration when the time comes to change him as well.

Hello Kowe,

Any way to have the previous version of Astaria ? I can't edit the face on the new one, the faces are actually duplicating on themselves but the previous version I used to be able to, same for Gaile and Whilemine

Hi. Wilhelmine works with no issues, only her name needs updating in inventory and dialogue. Nice touch to turn her looks into full tiefling with tail instead of just giving her horns. She is the new Annah of the Shadows and Le'zil is the new Dak'kon. :bounce: Also love femme fatale Astaria and Gale's sweet yet awkward voice acting and freckles. Unfortunately people paid millions can't or won't make attractive characters so we have to rely on the free labor of enthusiasts. People in early access was busy jerking off to lizardmen instead of giving proper feedback concerning companions i guess.(not that those **** would listen)
