It's worse than that. You don't need kernel-level spyware to spy on people watching porn. No, the kernel-level spyware is what allows them to coopt your computer to use in cyber attacks. Installing these games is not merely compromising your privacy, it's actively participating in committing treason against your country.

@Val the Moofia Boss I saw you mentioning this in the pirates topic and wanted to ask, the original Pirates of the Caribbean Online seems to have been closed but I really wanted to play too and have found this project https://tlopo.com/ do you know of it and if it's anything like the original game? I would prefer to play the original, but so far it seems to be an impossibility

I haven't played it, but from a quick search of 5 year old reddit threads, it seems to be overall the same game with improved performances and some minor quirks in mob AI, and a few new added maps.

I myself saw this video that illustrated it, but I wanted to hear from someone that actually played the original to say how close it truly is. If you might see the video below, do let me know what you think if you can The blackjack seems to be there, as are the naval battles that I saw

If you get Gorky 17 to run, it is a pretty cool and "surreal" game. Atleast for me since I played it when I was a kid.

It's pretty good, if the premise sounds interesting then you'll enjoy it. I haven't played it in a very long time so not sure what's changed since then

I got bored with it fairly quickly. It touts it's immersive sim features, but I thought that there wasn't really that much variety in what you can do. Things can become extremely chaotic quickly, so any planning I did was wasted most of the time. There's a new one out but I haven't tried it.

Looks decent. Only thing I don't like is the "timed hits." When I play these types of games I want to fully relax.

It's a pity they have so few reviews, albeit they all sound positive. The volume of games being release is such these days that unless there's a big marketing push, or the game is beyond exceptional, a title can easily get buried.

it says the view is in first person or third person, which is interesting.

seems like a cool combination of genres. part detective game, part survival horror, with multiple views and seemingly lots of choices to make.. looks delightfully 90s in style.
