Apologies for going off-topic. As just a film, it's a very cool depiction of the pre-conquistador period of the Mayan civilisation and fairly reasonable at that. As a historical film, it has some glaring ahistorical problems. Small pox before the Spanish even arrived, the Mayan village being far too primitive for the kind of society the Mayans had at that time. Especially given it wasn't that far from the city, unless the film was trying to pretend it was much farther away. There should have been more evidence of agriculture near the city as well. Still, I doubt we'll see a film depict the Mayans in earnest for a long time, if ever. Worth a watch for anyone who hasn't seen it.
