What was the last fun mp game? Vanilla TF2? Left4Dead? I haven't given a **** about mp in so long. I'd almost say I hate the entire concept now outside of MMOs
MP games are another victim of console/casual gamers IMO. Also, what MMO are you playing? Are there actually any decent current ones?
There are no good ones right now and the only one I have hope for is Monsters & Memories. I keep hearing the best currently running one is Guild Wars 2, but it's not the kind of MMO that I'm looking for and I have no desire to play a 12 year old MMO. If I'm going to play something old I'd rather play Project 1999, which I guess is technically the only good MMO that you can still log into.
DAoC is still going isn't it? Then again, even that masterpiece was run into the ground by shoddy expansions. What a shame Unchained is dead in the water.
GW2 is the one that keeps popping up whenever I make a half-hearted attempt at finding a new MMO to play. However I was put off for life by GW1 which felt like some horrible Frankenstein abomination which I can only describe as a fantasy MMO mixed with Counterstrike.

DaoC had some good ideas, but it was a **** game. I mean the best strategy in that game is to level up without spending any of your ability points because it will give you free points in some of your skills if you aren't spending in there. Very bad design. The pvp was cool though. GW2 is nothing like GW1, but neither is the kind of MMO that I want. I want a simulated world that feels alive. Optionally with full loot pvp.
MMORPGs are forever **** because they've seen as much evolution as Diablo clones. In the beginning you had some cool ideas, then one game came out that everyone decided to steal from over and over again with minor modifications of tertiary systems/mechanics. There was never any meaningful progression in the genre over 20 years after the fact.
Sometimes you see MMORPGs that have decent ideas but are too tethered to the mega autistic crowd they've garnered over the decades who simply want color-coded loot under a new crappy coat of paint and power creep so strong that bosses/raids become square dancing routines that you either do right or die in one hit.
I also second GW2 sucking insane amounts of shemale ****. It's FF14-tier of bad.
I guess I need to play the first one now. Waiting for the 80 percent sales to pick up some more RPG's.
Is it worth 5 bucks?
In my experience, the first game is pretty good. The story and overall writing are pretty awful. The combat is it's highest point, the world itself is pretty cool, and the rpg elements are pretty sweet. The UI is annoying. Boss battles are some of the best imo. Sequel looks like an improvement on everything, so far.

I'm not going to watch any videos or read anything about it, but is this just a remake? I know the JP really have a hardon for doing that ********, if it is just a remake then SKIP

Why would they call it Dragon's Dogma 2 if it were a remake?
FFS are they really doing that ****** pawn system again? I don't get the appeal of that annoying crap. I wanna focus on my own character without having to divert my attention to his sidekick which essentially is nothing more than a glorified pet. If people want a pet then Capcom should just add a pet class. The pawn did nothing for me but hinder the enjoyment in the first game.
It really does just seem like the same game but again, is there anything they've shown off that demonstrates any amount of innovation? It seems to me like even the now-dead MMO had more to it.
I never got around the playing the original game so hopefully this one is as good as everyone says the first one is.
It's not the best game in the world, but it is simple. And the contrast with the more... complicated... times we live in, makes the experience so stress-free, that its simplicity becomes its strength.
I'm trying very hard not to continuously post about this game, because there are a lot of things coming out about it, and they all look good - but I also don't want to spam.
Anyway, this sequence is awesome, because remember how you basically fought like 2 griffins your whole playthrough in DD 1? Well...
Played Dragon's Dogma. Didn't finish, but I enjoyed it a lot. It's worth playing, and the weird Japanese sensibilities/tropes stuff is really toned down from the stuff you usually see from them.
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.
Reject your retarded-wing political programming and learn to think.
If you can.
Gameplay footage. 100% in Japanese. But a lot of stuff in it transcends language.
i like how animations, while being smooth and modern, still feel very gamey and precise. Itsuno really knows his action games.
Meanwhile in RE remakes all the main characters move like inflatable tube men, flailing and stumbling around, making few undesired steps after you already stopped pressing a move key/pushing a stick.
