Forgotten Realms too was always intended to be degenerate as per Ed Greenwood's own words, what we originally got during the earlier editions was a watered down Faerun with most of its sexual deviancy toned down. But I reckon that as of the modern day, the setting has become as degenerate as Greenwood always intended it to be, funnily enough.
As for the other DnD settings like Eberron, Dark Sun, Greyhawk, Dragonlance, Spelljammer, and the like, I think those were - and.still are - mostly free of sexual degeneracy afaik. If anything, the fact that they never got as popular as Forgotten Realms may have been what ultimately spared them from the woke corruption.
I wish that a retroclone like Hyperborea or Machinations of the Space Princess got a adaptation, but being very honest. After RT, I'm very skeptical about owlcat. My guess is that they ever make lets say a Warhammer Old World adaptation, they will :
- Set in a Boring place like Bretonnia instead of the cool Empire of Sigmar, or Tilea or Estalia.
- Lock you into specific characters.
- If they allow you to be a mage, lock you into Bright Wizards, no cool Celestial Wizardry, no Azyr, no Ulgu, no Chamon. Just like they removed Telekinesis from Rogue Trader, present on beta.
- Wouldn't feature cool stuff like steamtanks and dwarf ironclads
- Would come with a lot of 4e tier spells, even if by some miracle, they include Ulgu, spells like Traitor of Tan wouldn't take control over the enemies(like telepaths do in P&P but not in Rogue Trader)
- Number bloat if in WHFRP, even greater daemons don't have 3 digit hp and the most powerful single target spell for legal mages, Urannon thunderbolt deals 4d10 damage, Hellcannons, combining the most advanced Dwarf metallurgy with the most powerful daemonology and dark magic deals 6d10 damage, expect numbers to go to millions
- A lot of "equality cultism" like for eg, a lot of female Warrior priest of Sigmar, a lot of Halfling casters and other nonsensical stuff
- They would associate "equality" with good(when it it responsible for most evils IRL), portraiting Druchii as elitists and High Elves as a socialist heaven.
- Lots and lots of bugs.
- The combat would be all about stacking 1656515641653163516 buffs and extra turns
- (...)

Tired of this thing where devs pretend players don't like games that are just power fantasies. Dork souls and its consequences have been a disaster.

Is just medieval generic North Korea. Nothing interesting, the Empire has guns, magic, steamtanks, demigryphs, Kislev has armored bears, Tilea has wild west capitalism. Bretonnia has horse zoophilia...
Thankfully Dark Sun is never getting the 5e treatment because slavery is so ingrained into the setting. As we all know depicting something is an endorsement of it.UltraFan123 wrote: ↑ May 20th, 2025, 10:40Pathfinder was always super woke from the start, ever since its publication in 2008.mercerxiv wrote: ↑ May 20th, 2025, 09:00Hahaha, under favorite IPs I put something along the lines "Old D&D, Pathfinder, Forgotten realms (before ~2009)". Yes.
All of my favorite things were made by people who explicitly endorsed it, and libs are NOT allowed to like it because they promote anti-LIBTARD things.
Why would I ever depict something I don't actually support?

The intended fun of WH40k was in pretending to be ********.The civil war within the human Imperium would set the scene for 40k’s entire backstory, and the Space Marines would become the most recognisable figures in its fictional universe. But while recent editions of the game have cast them in a heroic light, Priestley argued that Games Workshop had misinterpreted the intent behind the characters.
“To me the background to 40K was always intended to be ironic,” he said.
“The fact that the Space Marines were lauded as heroes within Games Workshop always amused me, because they’re brutal, but they’re also completely self-deceiving. The whole idea of the Emperor is that you don’t know whether he’s alive or dead. The whole Imperium might be running on superstition. There’s no guarantee that the Emperor is anything other than a corpse with a residual mental ability to direct spacecraft.
“It’s got some parallels with religious beliefs and principles, and I think a lot of that got missed and overwritten.”
Except that's what the inbred Anglo ***** that own the IP want, while the fanbase wants something entirely different.
And no, Tau players are not part of the fanbase, they're subhuman cockroaches that should be stoned to death.
Nope. Is the most boring and generic place. Nothing interesting and Knights more arrogant than elves and more stubborn than dwarfs, no firearms, magic only for Damsels, no steampunkery. Over 90% of the population is malnourished. Even Vampires in Sylvannia threats its human cattle better than Bretonnia nobles threat its peasants.
Well, I would agree BUT with a caveat.DrSneed wrote: ↑ May 20th, 2025, 15:59Thankfully Dark Sun is never getting the 5e treatment because slavery is so ingrained into the setting. As we all know depicting something is an endorsement of it.
While a butchering of Dark Sun is unlikely, don't mean impossible. For eg, I could imagine WoTC making a Dark Sun campaign, where you play as a member of a democratic city state lead by a progressist dwarf preserver fighting against fascist sorcerer kings.

"haha I was just joking when I added the scene where the black male saves everyone from the evil low intelligence white male then has sex with the white woman!!!! I was making fun of them!!!!"
There's nothing that could cause me to make such a thing, I'd never even think of doing it.

Before a game update brick'd my high seas copy and made it unable to load past the boot up screen, I had recruited that Space Marine fellow from the Interstellar Gay Zone. Then I realised he's ******* garbage. It's incredible. My bladedancer brought that areas final boss from 100% to 0% in two turns as that class is insanely broken while my Space Marine was just a human shield doing minimal damage. Combat in general just never became fun, mostly because 80% of my level ups were passives and the abilities I rarely used beyond maybe a few. I realise I could just download a previous version and likely keep playing but beyond a few caveats like the music or telling my foid navigator that she is a anti-social ******, I'm not that eager to resume.
Rambled a bit but in essence I just wanted to point out given the earlier comments about the Space Marines that Owlcat gave us one and he was the most useless person on my team. Great game.

Did I miss something? Because I thought Owlcat explicitly said they weren’t doing another Warhammer project?
That thing we made look super cool is actually bad, Chud!
Owlcat has said there are no plans for Warhammer Fantasy at this time. However they said there are open for more W40k TTRPG’s adaptations. Its heavily rumoured that there making a Dark Hersey game and possibly an entire game or DLC for Rogue Trader relating to the Night Lords Adeptus Astartes.Brother Michael wrote: ↑ May 20th, 2025, 20:53Did I miss something? Yeah it's the classic case of a leftard creating something to mock it, expecting everyone else to also hate it, and then backfires in the most hilarious way.
Another example of that is the character Rorschach from Alan Moore's Watchmen. Moore created that character as a strawman of what he believes are "right-wingers", and to this day he's still dumbfounded about the fact that Rorschach is the most liked character from said comic series.
Looking forward to learning Pathfinder 2e without having to read a Paizo book.

Except in 40K's case, it actually was made by libtard punks who hated the Imperium, while amusing a softspot for the Orks. The orks originally took human allies and were ok trading with human worlds. Anglo boomers hate themselves.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ May 20th, 2025, 17:01Nope, if you depict something you explicitly support it.Roguey wrote: ↑ May 20th, 2025, 16:55rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ May 20th, 2025, 14:34I wanna play as a space marine doing space marine ****https://web.archive.org/web/20160518214 ... eneration/rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ May 20th, 2025, 16:04All of my favorite things were made by people who explicitly endorsed it, and libs are NOT allowed to like it because they promote anti-LIBTARD things.

I give it a few years, especially now since the Amazon tv series has been green lit to make the Imperium a moustache twirling faction that has no redeeming values.maidenhaver wrote: ↑ May 20th, 2025, 22:53The only reason the Imperium aren't villainized and **** on is because most players buy them. Otherwise, I think GW would have happily made the Imperium the most obvious badguy.
