I recall someone asking about cop games, either here or in chat, and this looks like the perfect game for whoever was asking. Looks very cool/detailed.

bethesda marketing consisting of just a single image of a game then it's randomly released without any forewarning was peak marketing

Police Quest games are an obvious example if you're into point and click adventures.

Hill Streets Blues for the Amiga was a fun and pretty ambitious game.

SWAT 3 and 4 are obvious choices. There's also SWAT 2, though I remember it was pretty clunky. Rainbow Six games are, sorta, similar, and Doorkickers tries to emulate the strategic mission planning R6.

L.A. Noire may also scratch the itch.

Emergency is sorta a cop game too? It's an RTS where you command various rescue services like ambulances, firefighters and cops.

The problem with many police games is that while the protagonist is a cop, the games rarely focus on making the player immerse themselves into the role of a cop.

Honorable mentions go to Urban Chaos: Riot Response for letting you be a riot cop and Beat Cop for the interesting concept.

porn should be banned for the same reason heroin is illegal
I oppose the ban simply because it will inevitable bring Digital ID for the internet.

Yeah, that was me. I'll probably buy it since there are not a lot of cop games and they did exactly what I wanted (Somewhat modern cops where you are out on patrol)

I give it a 20% chance of ever being released at all, and a 2% chance of living up to the hype from the 2023 trailer, but Unrecord is supposed to be a cop game with investigation/interrogation alongside the bodycam shooting.

@ArcaneLurker Brother and I played SWTOR up until I think a few months after The Hutt Cartel released. Dual Sith Assassins/Jedi Shadows as well and did 2's and then with a buddy I met on there 'Banshee' who was an Operative stealther and did 3's and dungeons and such with. We lost maybe 10 games out of maybe 70+ together. Huttball was our favorite. For sure win. Good times, you played before?

I played Sith Inquisitor & Bounty Hunter up to a point (Dromund Kas for Sith and not very far with Bounty Hunter). It's decent, I really liked KOTOR 1/2 growing up, as well as Jade Empire, but I'm not big on MMOs.

It's a really good kotor3 with an MMO tumor attached to it. Even gives away most of the good content for free.

After years of silence, new screenshots have been published for Kingdom Hearts 4, which has been in development for... what? 6 years now? It will probably have been at least 7 or 8 years by the time it finally releases. May be it will even skip the PS5 like how KH3 skipped the PS3. Amazing how long it takes modern Square to push out a mainline title.

Yeah, the current state of Square Enix is quite sad.

But that is what they get when they allow DEI to infect them.

Not releasing a Parasite Eve remake during the current survival horror boom is just another one of Squeenix's ******** mistakes.

I played SWTOR very intensely for a year or so before the 7.0 update released and they completely reworked the gameplay into a shoddy Guild Wars 2 clone. Ironically, I started playing GW2 right after that and SWTOR turned out to be a mediocre MMO comparatively. I still prefer the story campaigns of SWTOR, though. The Imp Spy and Sith Warrior Light Side campaigns are kino.

Decided to try Minecraft so I downloaded the TLauncher and I do admit that this game is quite chill.

The soundtrack is relaxing too. I can see myself playing this when I don't want to use too much brainpower.

I heard that the iconic original soundtrack by Daniel Rosenfeld might have been replaced, I am not sure. I remember that the music was a huge part of Minecraft's atmosphere, of running across this infinite world looking for a place to build or for food, or touring people's magnificent creations, but you are the only only inhabitant of this world and you have that slightly sad music playing.

But it wasn't totally bad. I remember one of my first experiences on a Minecraft server. I was running into town at the sun had just gone down below the horizon, and then people were jumping around, and this much more lively music began playing. Probably a coincidence but it was pretty magical.

Game bore me to tears but that’s on me because sandbox games aren’t my thing. Definitely agree on the soundtrack which is phenomenal.

Youtube threw me a recommendation of some Valorant tournament. I knew nothing about the game before. And it was actually kinda interesting to watch for a while: teams feinted, tried to get each other into kill zones, there were terrain altering consumables, etc.

Then I've googled a random Overwatch tournament and it was all Counter Strike again - lemmings running around nonstop shooting ****.

Haven't kept up on this. I remember they tried something like it ages ago and then abandoned it.

EDIT: Speaking of which, I wish the guy working on the U5 remake would give an update.

Is it fair to say the recent Wolfenstein reboot, starting from The New Order, was one of the earliest examples of hard left media seeping into the mainstream without anyone noticing it?

People I know who played it said it clearly wasn’t your typical WWII shooter game. It went deeper into critiquing the modern alt right movement and showed how 'dangerous' those groups are. Basically, it’s a game that makes fun of all right wingers, not just actual fascism. What other games from the 2010s fit this description?

The New Order is funny because the premise hinges on Nazis stealing technology from the Da’at Yichud and then victimizing **** for no reason. Yet the fact that this secret society exists, hoards world changing technology, and puts themselves in a position to decide if the rest of humanity was ready for the tech undermines Machine Games' attempt to dunk on Nazis because they were right about ****.
