I'm editing various NPCs that I don't like if there's someone particularly devastatingly ugly let me know I might alter them to.

Reminder Tiber was plowing barely legal Barenziah raw with his blade of woe and had her undergo a magical abortion that may or may not have happened.

Found something during the dark brotherhood questline where you have to kill the 5 people without them noticing that you are the killer. The dark elf woman Dovesi Odran, calls the redguard soldier a fascist pig, after you killed 2 people and ask her about Neville in the english audio version, even tho the subtitles dont mention fascist at all. And that certainly wasnt in the original. Also they couldnt even program the AI from the redguard to put his armor on once only 1 or 2 are alive. Pretty sure he did that in the original.

Having played this recently I can confirm that line was there in the original. And they didn't touch the data.

Edit: Yeah your issue is that you used a fan patch.
https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Neville
Neville claims that he'll go get his armor and sword but his chest contains a mace instead.

PC Only The Unofficial Oblivion Patch, version 3.5.5, fixes this bug.
They never officially fixed the bug so you get the experience as Bethesda left it.

Ok could be I am not sure I played the english version the last time I did that quest. But its not in my subtitles for sure so my native version didnt have that I guess. And Neville's chest contains his armor but he doesnt put it on. But yeah could be that this also got fixed at some point. :old2:

Having a grand time revisiting Cyrodil here. Only downside so far is that the new leveling system kinda broke progression and it feels way too fast now. I installed Ascension Lite set at 75/50% slower major/minor rates and it feels pretty good now. Also makes random bandits have basic gear instead of roaming around sporting full glass sets and enchanted weapons.

This and the no use to gain system that gives xp for quests instead are the only way to play. TES should have been skill points need to be used at trainers, with caps on the number of times you can initiate training with any given trainer, so you need to choose which of the trainers' skills you train, and look for all the trainers. Whatever character you end up with is your mistake. Among other things that would have made the games better.

A trainer in novice hammers can't train you any higher, so the cap on training sessions is unnecessary. I would first have a decent economy and loot systems. You spend gold at trainers, and if you run out of trainers, or if you want Master level training, you need to follow rumors to the hidden Master trainers, or JOIN THE GUILD for expedited gains, but I would hide Master Trainers in the game for freelancers. Then, that's it. I think reputation eliminates the need for levels, and attributes should be determined by Sex, Race, and Birthsign. That's the best system for a game like TES. No skill points, no xp.

Building games around doing everything in one playthrough, not having basic ***** fail states, is what lead to all games sucking and being the same **** thing.

Dungeons should be diseased and chests that belong to dungeons should give a chance to catch diseases from opening them. Diseases would be curable, but leave a permanent malus against attributes, and attributes should never go up after chargen. See, the problem with open world ARPGs is, your character gets fundamentally better. The only way to get better in a TRUE RPG is by joining or generating a good party. This won't happen, in ARPGs, so the player character is allowed to become a god, through tasks that any npc could do. This shouldn't be the case. Your character should deteriorate, except through practicing magic, and lean on early gains from questing, when your pc is least skilled, but at his prime and the game is still exciting and addictive. Attributes should only move toward 0. The character you generate should be at his peak, improving his skills through training, but he'll never be better. I had thought about this some, over one of Morrowind's level-up texts. When you level in Morrowind, you got some flavor text. One of them, I think lvl 8, maybe 20, basically said you're at your best, and you'll never be better, which got me immersed in the Nerevarine as a weeping corprus monster, over whose head hung a death sentence, but also got me asking how this could be true in power fantasy. Disease was a potentially great mechanic that never went anywhere, got shitcanned, and TES missed several opportunities to lift itself up from generic crap, by making itself mechanically distinct. What hindrance to going anywhere you want is there except for bigger enemies? ****'s ********. Lorewise, there's even a Daedra Lord of Pestilence, that also orders the lower universe. Basically, a game-breaking bug personified in a dragon, who can humble your pc, if you go cave diving or sewer loot grinding.

I wasn't going to download that remaster, but I will be reinstalling Skyrim to play Skyblivion. I think I'll review it. I wonder how compatible that Enderal mod for Oblivion is with the remaster?

Enderal is a mod for skyrim not oblivion. Wont work at all. You probably mean Nehrim what they did before.

They really needed to squash what bugs remained in Oblivion if they wanted to make the remastered version worth buying. From what I've been reading its a mess.

I'm doing the Dark Brotherhood and they didn't fix the fact that half of Shadowhunt's enchantments straight up don't work. The turn undead effect (which is useless anyway) has no duration so it wears off in the same second it's cast and the "weakness to poison effect" doesn't have a duration either and the way poison damage is calculated in Oblivion means the poison damage happens first before the weakness effect can be applied.

Yes, Nehrim. I wonder if its compatible with the remaster. Nehrim should have been the Skyrim mod, because they end in rim.

Really doubt it, as it almost certainly makes use of a bunch of new assets
