It has the most responsive control out of three, at least for those who plays on mouse and keyboard like I do, it's an action game so control is the most important thing for such a genre.

All of the games have absurd input lag, when I looked into it I was told that this is just normal for console games(??)Tinky Winky wrote: ↑ May 3rd, 2025, 07:59It has the most responsive control out of three, at least for those who plays on mouse and keyboard like I do, it's an action game so control is the most important thing for such a genre.
I was more referring to enemy design

They all controls like **** with absurdly ****** camera work that intentionally designed to **** you up which is the main reason I don't recommend any of them, the other reason is the enemy placement which is as designed to **** with the player as cheap as possible. Made it into the Ringed City DLC which is absolutely horrible for both maps.

Thoughts on it so far? Favorite characters and locations? Things you like? Things you wish could have been changed or improved?

2)The shrines i guess.
3)Art and music and combat.
4)Get rid of the ******* filler and stop having terroists like ouroborus and the politicians get away with so much **** and the lolcowlization of it too.
Sakura Wars 2: Thou Shalt Not Die
Chapter 5
Vacation time. The Confederate States of America gets an unexpected namedrop. Some technical lore in the Koubus. A pleasant nighttime visit. Our smart heroes inexplicably can't single out the obvious suspect.
I am overall enjoying SW2 more than SW1. The story is more engaging as the demons try to use more subtle means by targeting their sponsors, trying to give them a bad rap with the rest of the Japanese military, trying to isolate and disarm them, etc. Rather than just popping up somewhere and causing a catastrophe for no real reason like in the first game. The writing has more verisimilitude. Reni and Orihime round out the team more, though gameplay wise having 10 people on the map is too powerful and the scenarios are overall not balanced with enough objectives, enemy forces (that aren't one shotted), or a tight enough time limit to make you really consider how to spread your team. I don't like the new battle tracks as much as SW1's. If you are a Kohran fan then she doesn't get much favorable attention compared to the others, but I am still on disc 1 so that might change.

Sakura Wars 2: Thou Shalt Not Die
Chapter 6
On disc 2 now. A stock storyline this time. The freakshows are here to stay. Did the Treaty of Versailles happen in this timeline? We finally get to kill a bad guy.

Just started playing Valkyrie Profile Lenneth on my phone due to my friend having a crunchyroll sub and sharing it with me. Very nice visuals and the soundtrack is beautiful so far

Checking out Shivarune's Dungeon Traveler's translation. I haven't worked the past week and a half so lots of free time. ****, I might do another playthrough of Resident Evil: Revelations.
Besides that, I'm tempted to play Starsector. Only did the tutorial because I know I'll get hooked.

Sakura Wars 2: Thou Shalt Not Die
Chapter 7
Another good chapter. There needs to be more variety in cutscene music, though. I am already humming the tone I predict will be playing for the next cutscene, and then 9 out of 10 times that track begins playing.

Sakura Wars 2: Thou Shalt Not Die
Chapter 8
It's military coup time! They're breaking in! We get new mechs. Some wonky writing. Three villains die. The heroes call it the day even though there is a lackey left?
I find it strange that they rehashed Sakura's story chapter from the last game. Was it shoved in here because the series is called "Sakura Wars"? Though with three leaving behind the Japanese mech squad, it seems that the devs might have eventually let go of that idea. The way the Sakura stuff in this chapter is written so weird and mediocre. I can't believe it would have been written by whoever else had been writing the rest of the game. Were there multiple writers divying up different parts?

Finished the main game of Elden Ring, From ***** has stopped caring about being (or stopped pretending to be) fair on this one - The very first mandatory boss, Margit, has all the meme moves including the infamous midair delayed attack, which he can defy the law of gravity just to troll you - so neither should I, I decided to just use guides for my pure mage build along with the most powerful spirit ashes, and the game has become significantly less painful as is the game was expecting players to look up for guides. Time for the DLC and then I can finally be done with soulslops anyway.

I dunno if I like or dislike Deadzone yet. It suffers from the same problem all games of this nature do: repetition. Chunk after chunk after chunk. Actually, I shouldn't say chunk because I don't think the rooms are random.

Nope. I've done everything I can think of. I checked my firewall, cleared the Steam cache, regenerated by user and config directories, even updated Windows just in case. It doesn't work. I've never had this problem with any other game I own.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ May 8th, 2025, 11:40Did you get the multiplayer working?Tweed wrote: ↑ May 8th, 2025, 11:39I dunno if I like or dislike Deadzone yet. A bit frustrated by having to rotate party members to do specific field commands ("story actions") in town, wanted to see if I could reverse the game and fix it. Since there was a mod that fixed travel banter, figured I could also fix this.dagal wrote: ↑ April 29th, 2025, 00:09Octopath Traveler, for the first time. I feel dumb for spending the first few hours of the game trying to solo everything with the thief, and not recruiting anyone else. The game actually gets much more rich if you party up.
Alas, after bothering to remember how to reverse UE4 games, I found out that the field commands are not similar to travel banter mechanics at all, and I would have to patch and rewrite several places, and also fix the UI after... Guess it's easier to just rotate party members when needed. Dumb design for console kids.

You do you, but IMHO pure magic builds are the most boring builds for soulgames.Tinky Winky wrote: ↑ May 8th, 2025, 11:24Finished the main game of Elden Ring, From ***** has stopped caring about being (or stopped pretending to be) fair on this one - The very first mandatory boss, Margit, has all the meme moves including the infamous midair delayed attack, which he can defy the law of gravity just to troll you - so neither should I, I decided to just use guides for my pure mage build along with the most powerful spirit ashes, and the game has become significantly less painful as is the game was expecting players to look up for guides. I view soulgames as action-adventure with stats and nes bullshitties. If I want to have melee experience I'd go play 2D action games like Megaman Zero instead since they do have better control and better visual clarity.Statesman wrote: ↑ May 8th, 2025, 16:55Tinky Winky wrote: ↑ May 3rd, 2025, 11:05Anyway I'm done with this ****** crap, think I should play Elden Ring next for more automasochistic experience o algo.

Digital Combat Simulator. Learning how to JDAM and JSOW some arabs in the gulf. Flying at mach 20000 miles above ground, watching cave dwellers 50 miles away on google street view to observe the missile impact is a good time.

I like sugar, and I like tea.
I’m playing Knights of the Old Republic. Second playthrough to get off Taris. My first one I sperged out and went Dark Side at the very end. I think I’ll stay a good boy this time. I should be playing Arcanum though, because it’s the current Junior Adventurers Guild Game.
Skyrim Belongs to the Nords.
Geek the Mage first.
There is no virtue in extending mercy to those who want you dead.
Justice will prevail, you say? But of course it will! Whoever wins this war becomes justice!

The DLC of Elden Ring is really unhinged and I can see why it gets so much hatred. Spent hours trying to kill the final boss and ended up resorting to a "cheesing" build (basically Fingerprint Stone Shield + Antspur Rapier with Ash of War:Blood Blade) just to beat it.

Finally done with soulslops anyway, time to play a better, more enjoyable game like Gothic 2 or Megaman Zero.

Sakura Wars 2: Thou Shalt Not Die
Chapter 9 and 10
It's the Christmas episode. Everyone gets stressed out as they ask their captain to play favorites. Some Japanese trivia. Sumire tries to kill her love via heart attack. The usual suspects return. The bad guy summons the final dungeon.

Chapter 10 the penultimate chapter?

I beat Nine Sols made by developer red candle games who are best known for massively pissing off china. I'd give it an 8.5/10. Combat is about as tight as possible, and the animation work is stellar. Soundtrack also deserves some credit, it was shockingly good at times. The story was also a highlight and managed to be depressing, hopeful, and bittersweet. I won't lie it's hard. If you dudes aren't good at these parry timing games (like me) you're in for a ride. The final boss was a massive difficulty spike. Harder than anything else in the game. Because people care about woke **** in the game there's a single npc/boss who's this feminine looking guy called Ji. I'd post a picture for context but I'm to lazy. He's meant to be immortal who became a young (20's?) adult and just stopped aging. Eternally a twink. As for outside the game supposedly on the discord the devs confirmed a boss called lady etheral is actually a lesbian and had a relationship with one of her female colleagues. Of course never said in the game and you wouldn't possibly know this actually playing it. If I had to describe the game in three words it would be furry sekiro metroidvania
