Oh I just noticed that their shotgun shells still have the bullet tips attached to the shell when it's ejecting. That means nothing was actually fired down the barrel. What a bunch of ******* ******** participation trophy morons.
Round shell casing, square hole. The real tragedy here is that the adult who designed the weapon also failed the basic block test they give children.
looks like they fixed this particular issue, but then introduced another one.

Is it just me, or did they make her much whiter than she was in the previews?

Current state of 2023:
Bethesda game has more attractive women than basically any other game released this year. Well, feminine, at least.

I am laughing at the 40 haircut options and the Fallout traits and being able to betray factions in a roleplaying game. The future of gayming.

review after 10 hours:
pretty gud
Perhaps it's because my expectations weren't that high, but I'm enjoying it quite a bit.
I quit both skyrim & FO4 at about ~15-20 hours out of boredom, btw. They felt much different, the worlds were more sterile and lacked reactivity.

I guess I'd describe it as largely being the good parts of FO4 + lots of new stuff in a new setting.

I have a feeling this game is not going to be popular with console players. Bethesda games previously had a tendency to move towards simplifying their games, Starfield did not follow this trend. At least, with regards to UI and such. I can't imagine playing this with a controller when most keys on my keyboard already have multiple modifiers and/or held states for various things.

It's perhaps the first Bethesda game that feels like it went through a proper quality pass. e.g., Facial animations look pretty darn good, which is not something bethesda is known for. I've also encountered no bugs.

Also, there's absolutely no local maps whatsoever. You're expected to read signs and actually ask for directions.
Certainly... a decision, in a futuristic sci-fi game.

8. bethesda writing

10. Even MORE streamlined dialogue and rpg system.
11. super powers

They took how many years to make this dogshit? Every planet should be the size of goddam Daggerfall, with proc-gen and handcrafted cities too. Space combat should be so good, they'd made dozens of videos by now, showing off dogfights and boarding raids, but we've only had a glimpse. In a ******* SPACE game. Instead, we know they had to rebuild this game a couple years ago, because it was so godawful. If this is a rpg then so is goddam Elden Ring, or does grouping Elden Ring in rpgs make bethestards nervous?
The space battles are looking like "It's ******* nothing". You jump to a new planet, there's some pirates you gotta fight there, you beam down. No giant Freespace battles with capital ships lazering each other, no boarding abandoned space hulks, no stealthy raids on asteroid mining stations.
I really like the sound of that. Sundog 2023!

Todd Howard is winning me over big time.

Skeptic ***, the video man? All I heard is maps are drawn from random seeds. It should be possible to share seeds with other players so that maps can be modded, but that's what I'm asking, because no I didn't sit through the entire video. If the maps can't be shared, then modding is ******.

Yeah, if there's a seed, it should be possible to load that seed into any copy of the game, and it should come out the same, and with modding it should be possible to load a specific seed, mod it, and then share a replacer for that seed, which can then be "seeded" (no pun intended) into whomever's game, assuming they are using said mod.

If that's not possible, all the modders will be able to mod are a few static locations and then the random library of assets, which would be pathetic.

Oh No no nonono..

You can't even fly around in space.. Your ship is only useable in orbit around planets.

Basically you fast travel to a planet and your dumped into a giant invisible walled cube with a skybox.. sometimes there's **** there to deal with but you can't fly planet to planet even if they are next to each other.. upgrading your ship is basically pointless.. you spend 99% of the game on foot and your ship is a glorified Fast Travel carriage.

Holy **** my expectations were zero and I'm still disappointed.

How hard was it to make a galaxy traversable.. You basically have to fast travel EVERYWHERE..

I wanted good space combat and a good base for mods, and after 10 years they should have delivered, but devs today are ****** babies. BGS clearly fell to **** after the rona lockdowns, so they lost 2-3 years, then they also needed to restart at least once. This turd may not ever be playable.

Forget Scam Citizen or NMS..

Mass Effect 3 literally has more space travel than this game.. You can't fly around planets.. you can hardly move when you fast travel to something...

This game is so claustrophobic.. you can't do ******* **** all in your ship. I hop to a planet and I'm just pinging off invisible walls everywhere, forget landing on a planet I can't go anywhere.. I just have to hope pirates magically teleport in or I can't do anything...

This is baaaaad... Holy ****.

I don't want to tangent too much on this, but:

Fair enough, although in this case it's a solo dev who has been upfront about having a full time job and the game having to be seondary priority. Also, I think his dad died at one point and he had to deal with a bunch of stuff. He still updates frequently, and has made a really solid game for both ground exploration and space combat. The only major thing left before leaving early access is finishing the "3rd act" of the game story. You can play the forst 2/3rds right now.

the game officially releases on September 5th. Today was a deluxe edition paypig release. Tbh the fact that it managed to get 200k+ concurrently playing deluxe edition paypigs is already impressive.

This game seems to have an even uglier aesthetic than Fallout 4. Everything is so sterile and globohomo. With how much heckin' GRAPHICS we can render, you'd think they would be a little more imaginative.
