While the silly old dodge animations were funny and had their charm the new ones are a lot more actually useful and functional.

I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

Not trying to get into the whole debate about whether Redguards were always black or if that’s been pushed more in newer games. That’s a whole other convo.

Just wondering—hypothetically—if a guy wanted to play without any black characters, like maybe make Redguards look more like swarthy southern Euros (think Italian or Spanish), or just swap them out for another human race entirely… how hard would that be to mod? Anyone already mess with that? I tried searching but didn’t see anything yet—could just be early days, though I doubt I’m the only one who’d prefer that kind of setup.

Even Starfield ended up getting a “No Blakks” mod, and that game didn’t even deserve the effort compared to something like an Oblivion remake.

I am seeing a lot of Oblivion mods simply ported to the "remaster" and working quite alright. I think changing the skintone slider in some way, or the texture, which of the two, or both, is causing the darker skin, and then porting the mod to the "remaster" I think would work. I have some experience modding Oblivion and have messed around with races, but I always left vanilla NPCs alone so not sure what would take to make such a pervasive change, especially because the NPCs will have the facegen still generated for them (hair, face shape, etc) which might need to be changed. I also know each individual NPC has its own customization, so part of me wonders if that might even mean having to manually edit every single one of them then, as the customization includes skin tone (all of this in the original game though, I am unsure how people are modding the "remaster", but without the Construction Set, I would use something like TESEdit, which should, in theory, work, as it just opens and edits the game files without needing anything else. It could even export character data and modify it that I recall!).

Hard.
Well, not that hard per se. Just laborious and unsatisfying no matter what way you go, unless you take the most laborious method of manually making changes individually, where needed.

There is no way to automate it, especially for defined characters.
The fastest way would be to edit the texture files doing a "recolor" (lol), but a lot of them, like Baurus, would look weird, like albino sub-saharans.
Face edits would be required. And the face geometry is stored and complex.
You could, most easily, do a copy-swap where you take non-Redguard face info and duplicate it on Redguards.
But you'd have to write custom software to automate this, and now you have more samey faces in the world on randoms, and now on named NPCs as well.

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.
Reject your retarded-wing political programming and learn to think.

I've olayed around with it a little bit. Race swapping is technically as easy as ever aince you can hook up the old mod tools to the data files from the remaster since it's just the old ones. The real problem is needing to then also crack open the UE5 files so you can edit the new character faces otherwise they just override anything you do.

Tried a few and this shader is the one I'm now using. Does a good job capturing the og color palette.

Removed the bloom personally but also did in the og. Always physically hurt my eyes.

Do you think Bethseda deliberately "leaked" the game to put it on people's radars before the "sudden" release? Do you think the game would have sold as well if it had came out of absolutely nowhere?
