It's laughable how hard the Flintlocks and Forspokens have been owned with this. All you needed was a cast of whites (one hapa doesn't count) and a somewhat competent writer and all the normgroids would proclaim it as the bestest game ever.

Yes. But it has QTEs for every attack and defense, the defense QTEs allowing you to negate 100% of damage(and if done well enough, do high amounts of counter damage)

Mario RPG except it has elden ring attack delays

Mario RPG: enemy jumps at you and the velocity continues in a pattern a human would expect, and connect as you'd expect.
Obscure Eclairs: Pastry-Three: Enemy jumps at you and lands 5 inches from your face, swings its weapon three times to try and juke a dodge, swings its weapon over its head, holds it there for half a second, then hits you

People want to cheer for a western dev that isn't producing some version of Concord.

Even if it's 5/10, it'll get knocked up to 9/10 just because of that.

I'm one of the last people that would say this, but it just feels like a blatant anti-Japanese bias being applied. I did not see anything groundbreaking here, and a lot of systems are much simpler than in JRPGs I know of.

I highly doubt this is actually a better game than Metaphor: ReFantazio, mechanically. And the story of Eclairs was just as gonzo as a typical JRPG.

I'm the opposite, I wish death upon westoid game devs and want nothing more than every last piece of **** they create to fail and for them to get fired and starve to death. I have no desire to play more western games at all and I'm perfectly content only playing eastern games, since I've always preferred them. For me to think highly of a western game is no simple task
