White woman with the lip slider cranked and an afro

Also lol using that as an example of non-****** up skin color when there's white smeared across her face for no reason

yeah it kinda feels like it.

i honestly never checked what race npcs are apart from looking at their visuals but it is very obvious that old redguard was basically everything between very light brown and full on nignog but now has been turned into nignog only.

kinda like the nignogs want to erase all other pocs.

This is kirkbride apologizing for them not being entirely black(2020):
FWIW, this was a ****** decision on my part based on a ****** reasoning. I was younger and didn't realize how important it is for everyone to have someone that looked like them in any media. Being half-Pacific Islander myself, you'd think I would've been more sensitive and responsible that all cultures should be represented in a fictional setting that's far too white. This quote is one of the many I wish I could take back. I think it's from around sixteen years ago but straight up know it shouldn't exist at all.
This appears to be a communal issue with writers in media, especially game dev. At one point early in their careers they understood that the setting's authenticity was more important than what was in vogue in current societal politics. Hence why we got so many things that are now seen as "problematic", even if they were created by progressives of the same cloth. It's why I enjoy MK's early ideas, he was willing to break convention just to make something interesting. Now he cannot and it's not even forced, it's self imposed castration. Just incredible.

Anyway, what's up with this Redguard stuff? TES lore nerds will tell you they are not sub-saharan blacks and heavily piggyback Arabic and some early Japanese culture. If you want to be simplistic, yes, they are black, yet share nothing with black people. That's just how TES is. The Dunmer are a conjoined mess of various eastern and western cultures. Anyone "discovering" this is a tourist to the series and not worth listening to.

Rusty didn't actually even play Oblivion and just started pretending to like it when it became cool to do so/out of spite (as usual) towards Morrowind fans so it's understandable he's going to take the utterly bizarre stance that Oblivion faces didn't have any issues at all accurately portraying the human face in general let alone the subtle nuances of various ethnicities.

Every game since Redguard they were black. All the faces you can choose in Morrownd are 100% black. The illustrations in the character creator show them as 100% black. The character creator gives them stereotypical black hair styles like afros and cornrows. Every game since has continued to portray them with exclusively negroid facial features.

Rusty's argument hinges on being intentionally obtuse and dishonest (as usual) because he hates talking about video games.

Yea it's so obvious that not a single game treats them that way :salute:
Which redguard faces in Morrowind look not black to you totally real TES fan :)

they certainly changed some skin colors

i am bit confused that someone called branwen is a redguard. looks like a fuckup and she was supposed to be a nord
Branwen was always a Redguard. It's also hinted that her father was a Breton. Hope this helps.
Her dad is the arena guy

Whoops, thanks for the correction. I know for sure there's a female Redguard whose father is a Breton, but it wasn't that one. Sorry about that. Completely forgot Owyn was a baby-daddy

I found this video about the differences with the original with different NPCs (there are also Redguards for the discussion above).
Seeing this and seeing how they did the Dark Brotherhood vampire (Vicente) truly convinced me to at least keep further attention to this game for the future. The only thing that I can't understand, like I recall also Vergil mentioning some pages back, is the change in the voices. Some I can appreciate (like Amantius) but others I truly do not understand :?

Edit: also another thing, I am really liking how they animated Adamus Philida (one eye squinting). Not sure if it was on purpose, but I love that sort of "military man" squinting look.

You said it was obvious they were treated a certain way in past games that even a cursory glance would prove is not true.

The lip sync and facial animations are genuinely dogshit. Uncanny valley. No idea why people are shilling for this lazy shovelware.

i just posted a very bright redguard there is also a trader woman that went from very bright to nignog also a redguard according to wiki. there will very likely be more examples of this and as we can see with the other redguard from the oblivion beginning it is perfectly capable to go full negro. so og oblvion portrayed them in several shades which not all where negrolike.
