I don't get why these people insist on saying they're now finally able to get the "new generations" to experience Oblivion. If you weren't interested in playing the original before, I don't see how you'd suddenly be tempted just because it got a remake.

Not to mention the consolized UI—why do they always have to dumb down video games to cater to console *******? The UI doesn’t look like it belongs in a PC game.

Also, can we talk about the phenomenon of women dyeing their hair in wacky colors? In the old the making of footage for the original, one of the women looked fairly normal. Now she’s obese and has dyed her hair red. Why do they do it? It doesn’t even look good.

From what I gathered from the trailer, the Gamebryo engine is still being used as the core for handling AI and physics, while Unreal Engine 5 is just used for the graphical side. I wonder how much modding potential this remaster will really have. A lot of my coworkers didn’t like Virtuos’s take on Demon’s Souls—they felt it deviated too much from the original artistic integrity because the devs thought they knew better than FromSoft.

Overall, I’m cautiously optimistic about this launch. Too many disappointments have come and gone in the gaming industry lately, and I’m not sure this one will be any different.

Overall, I’m cautiously optimistic about this launch.

Why?

The Demons Souls remake, despite receiving its fair share of negative criticism, was still generally well-received for what it aimed to do. The gameplay looked fun, but unfortunately, it's only available on the ps5. I don’t see the point in going out of my way to buy one, especially since there aren’t any games on the platform to look forward to—most of them will eventually make their way to PC anyway.
